Spacer Board

I got tired of climbing on the tailgate to install/remove the spacer board. Myself being a product designer/R&D I needed a solution. What I came up with is a very simple solution, all I needed was a hinge, a cross bolt and a saw. You guys are better carpenters than me and can make it a lot prettier.

Looks familiar.
But I needed more than 15" of grocery space. I even tried shower rods. In July, I came up with the sliding tray. Allowing me to pull items to me onto the tailgate.

I like the OPs cost effective solution and almost did the same with a 2x10 but decided to splurge for the Rough Country cargo tray. Fits perfectly between the tailgate & wheelwells and even when loaded with bags of sand, gravel & concrete will still slide fairly easily on the drop in liner. Easy to hose out, and works very well with a weeks worth of groceries.

Kinda surprised there's no aftermarket divider that's hinged...
