So my order goes into production…

I’ve been reading a bunch of threads and havent got a definitive answer on this yet…if/when my order goes into production, do I receive an email from Ford then and there telling me that, or does the email/vin, etc come after it’s hit the line?

long story short, would my dealer know it’s been picked before I receive an email/vin from ford?

VIN available when scheduled for a production week. Which means you have a VIN weeks/months before it is produced. You can get the VIN by calling Ford, or your dealer. They do send an email with it as well, but I can't recall if it was when it got scheduled to the week, or later.

I got mine from chatting with Ford, since I did it every Friday. My dealer was not a good source of info.

Edit to add: I went back and checked. The email Ford sends that tells you you were scheduled to a specific week does have the VIN in it as well. So you should get an email from Ford, usually on a Thursday, saying "congrats, you will be built the week of xxxx. Here is your VIN".

When I had to reorder my canceled VIN 2023, I stopped receiving emails from Ford. Yes I told my dealer he had to re-enter my info and he said it was in there. I'm sure he's just too lazy.

In any case, I have a VIN and now a window sticker and still never received a production email. I also received my VIN (via chat) about a month before Ford sent me an email about it on the canceled one.

TLDR: You will get your VIN faster chatting with Ford or calling your dealer than waiting on an email.

I ordered 09/17/22 and have never received a email from Ford to this day. I called Ford on 01/03 and she gave me a VIN number and told me it was scheduled for 02/07. She told me the reason for no emails is my dealer never entered a COVP. I think they did because I am loaded in their system... something must not be checked to receive emails.

You only get four emails from Ford and none of them are when your vehicle goes into production. If you read the original confirmation email that Ford sends it tells you exactly when they will email you and what for.
