Hi everyone - I stumbled on this site when I started researching Mavericks several weeks ago. This site has been very influential in my decision to purchase a Maverick. Today I paid for my 2025 Hybrid Ford Maverick XLT but as I found out only yesterday (I should have done more research), there is an air bag related recall preventing dealers from delivering affected stock to customers. I also found this out after I sold my 2016 Honda Civic (yesterday). The dealership and I should have noticed this recall as we were working up to the deal but we both missed it (somehow). Given my bind, the dealership has loaned me a 2025 Bronco Sport until the parts come in for the recall. In the meantime, my time with the Bronco Sport will help me get used to how Ford does things differently from Honda.
So, hello everyone, and I look forward to interacting more when I can finally take possession of my Maverick.
I'll post some pictures of the truck when I bring it home.

As far as we know the only recall on 2025 Mavericks is for the airbag light in the centre console. The vehicle you bought must be old stock made before April, the fix for that recall has been available for a while now and the stop sale has been lifted on any vehicle that has been be fixed. This is just poor customer service from your dealership.

Yeah, that's the recall I was referring to. The dealer's hands are tied because they're having trouble getting the parts. 😒

Welcome to MTC. Was this a vehicle they had in stock, the air bag indicator light clip parts have been available for some time, wonder why they didn't proactively address this?

HRG
Not sure why they didn't fix this earlier. It was in stock and probably has been in stock for a while. I only found out about the recall yesterday but I'll dig a bit to find out their whole story.

I bought a 2025 EB XLT about a month ago, it was manufactured in December of 2024. I had to wait a day while they fixed the recall; they had parts in stock. Surprised that the dealer didn't know about the stop sale on your truck and did not have the parts

I literally test drove it less than a week ago, which, I think, shouldn't have been allowed because of the recall. i.e. it applies to delivery and test driving.

Welcome to the Maverick Truck Club forum from Alaska!

I purchased my Maverick in May, before the recall. The Ford technician came to my driveway to install the Recall. I watched as he installed two clips the size of a paperclip. It took about 5 minutes.

I hope they fix your Maverick & get it delivered to you. ASAP

:wait:

I purchased mine the day the recall came down. The part is available and it takes 15 minutes to fix. I had to wait a week because it was new.

Some dealerships/sales people will do anything for a sale. Last year there were a number of dealerships selling 2024 Mavericks there were under stop sale order for a safety recall. At least your dealership didn't do that, which would have left you in warranty limbo. They cannot process the sale with Ford during a stop sale, and warranty coverage doesn't start until it's considered sold by Ford.

Interesting loaner - I almost bought a 2024 Bronco Sport left over but after signing documents that night and going home, I called them from work the very next morning and cancelled the order. After work, I went to the dealership and ordered my Maverick Lariat hybrid (first week of Feb) and took delivery in April....pleased as punch that I stayed the course and got the Mav....

they do that here in Pennsylvania also. Not sure what part of the state you’re from but check with your local dealer for mobile service. I’ve had 2 ford recalls performed at my house.
