Dang your truck just looks so good! Lucretia McEvil is rolling down the road!
Thanks Curtis! I honestly enjoy driving it more than any of my other cars I currently have (hot rods and a slammed Suburban).

My dealer swapped my failed CV axle without issue knowing full well lowering actually gives it a better overall angle (pretty sure that is right)
Wish you were closer so I could adopt your lower painted bits when the time comes
Eruption green is such a good color and also looks good with bronze wheels

Can’t wait to see how yours comes out
I'm still bitter about the CV thing and will be for a while. We modify our stuff, we know this happens, but when CV's are dropping like flies and the manufacturer finds a way to cop out it's ridiculous. Saving my receipts, saving my broken CV's. I'm sure there will be widespread litigation in the future, whether it's pushed by the NTHSA or a class action.

We sold our house in Jarrell, TX so I'm in Utah fulltime now and will only get back to Austin occasionally. Man, you're skilled enough to paint your plastics! Just don't forget the tailgate handle!

So why am I going from a Lariat back to a XL?

While I love the ActiveX material I prefer the black color of the XL seats, but I'm not willing to pay for the Black Out appearance package on top of the cost of the the higher trims. Its a shame that cooled seats aren't available, so I use vented seat covers that match the XL interior nicely.

The cost for the accoutrements of the Lariat - dual zone (which doesn't get used), larger cluster display, color matched handles and mirrors (which I can do myself), heated seats and steering wheel which I NEVER use, aluminum wheels that are getting pulled off the day of delivery, plus the B&O leaves a LOT to be desired! I'd rather start with the base truck and base stereo than deal with reconfiguring the underwhelming B&O again. I despise driving nannies like ACC and lane keeping. Give me a basic truck. Don't Tesla me. Let me drive my own damn vehicle.

But that's just me.

I'll run 20/21/22 inch wheels with bronze powder coat, but a shade more complimentary to the Eruption Green. I think my current wheels would contrast against it too much. Needs more "yellow" in the bronze, yet darker. Green and gold always (almost?) looks classy.

Like most, I'm not in love with the '25 facelift but everyone will forget about it in a year or two. The '25 has everything I wanted in '22 - green paint, bigger screen, hybrid AWD.

@daddio211 looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your 2025 EG Mav.
Hopefully whoever adopts your HPR Maverick is a forum member too or you strongly encourage them to join.
You and @volksnuts have two of the nicer modified HPR's I've seen.

Thanks so much!

I painted my tailgate handle two years ago!
Oh yeah, I forgot you had. Maybe I copied you!

No, it's not just you. I intentionally bought a plain XL. Starting with a more blank canvas makes it easier to paint what you want on it, and leaves more in the budget to do it.

My hope is that the CV issue gets recognized by Ford and a recall is issued. I will say this........most of manufacturing issues across all industries has been hurt by covid. Trying to catch up with parts has been an unspoken issue for most businesses.

The automotive industry has been hit the hardest. Quality is most important. But when you are pressured to produce more in the same time frame, quality goes down.

I love my Maverick. I love the mpg and the ability to pick up and haul things. I love how it drives, looks and feels. And your red truck just confirms that I made the right decision!

While I'm definitely a go-fast kind of guy I just drive too much to get a Lobo or modify an EcoBoost. I have hot rods to go fast, LOL.

The reason I skipped the 4K tow package was to keep higher gears for better mileage. I've only pulled my empty hot rod trailer in and out of the driveway with my Maverick, I have my slammed Suburban for towing.

New build will be similar in style. Larger diameter wheels, Eibachs, probably a single 10" or 12" in the bed ported into the cab.

I spend enough time driving dirt roads (hunting elk and coyoyes) that the AWD and an extra inch or two of clearance makes sense. Plus, my wife would enjoy driving it a little more.
