Has anyone contacted or heard from Ford if they plan to address the slack in the left tailgate cable when the tailgate is dropped?

Looks like a third party opportunity to me.
Does anyone know yet why they designed it like that?
What’s a fair price for a pair?

Both cables are the same length

I decided just to live with it and hope that someday there will be a set available from Ford or anyone else at a reasonable price.

So far, the tilt down of the tailgate when open and one looser cable than the other has had no impact on my life or the restricted my use of my truck. I'll take the good with the bad so far. Most of the time my tailgate is closed.

One member on here adjusted the mounting location of the cable which solved the problem.

I discovered a bigger problem with the tailgate. The back up camera is useless with the tailgate in any position except closed. When you really need it while backing up with the tailgate down, and something in the bed blocking your view. The camera should be where the license plate is located, or somewhere near the hitch. We need someone who can come up with a kit to put a second camera (License plate frame camera) to be used when needed.

A few options:

1. Turn your head. 2. Add any one of the backup cams available on Amazon. 3. Use a backup cam mirror. https://tailgatemirror.com/

the bigger question: is your tailgate level?

This is a problem.......on literally every single pick up on earth.

It's up there because it gives a better viewing angle of the hitch. And even with a license plate angle camera, with the tailgate down its extremely obstructed.
