I installed this lock just to make sure the door won't get removed, not for security. It fits as if it was made for the door. I modified the 2" latch with a bend and cut short. Found it on Amazon for, I think, 7 bucks.

I've been thinking of doing something like this for the Tonneau cover. I have a tri-panel cover, has latches underneath that hook in from underneath. The very back panel is not bad, just open the tail gate to access the latches, but the very front (right behind the rear window is impossible to open unless you undo the other two, so I'm thinking of getting a similar lock and rigging it to the front panel, lock would need a weatherproof cover otherwise freezing rain etc going to cause issues for the lock.

The good thing is at least this lock is stainless steel.

And those RV locks can be open by pretty much any other RV owners but it's still better than nothing. Cheers
