So ive been browsing and notice anyone that has a side exhaust before the rear wheel always does it on the passenger side. I know on my old chevy the fuel cell was in the way for the driver side pipe. Is this the same on the maverick or just personal preference in regards to the side on which the exhaust is mounted?

No, I've seen a few here in the boards that have the exit infront of the passenger tire. Has anyone had it exit on both sides?

Thank you for posting a picture.
I've never seen a Maverick with a side exit exhaust in front of the tires.

If I look at this video of the MRT side exhaust on a Tremor, it looks like the drivers-side under body shield is much longer, and does not have the room for the pipe/muffler to go without hanging much lower than on the passenger side.

In front of the rear passenger tire is the logical place to put a side exit exhaust. That's where your factory muffler sits, so you already have the space, the heat shield and the hangers to accommodate that setup. If you were to exit in front of the left rear tire your exhaust would hang much lower. You would have to cross below the drive shaft, there's no space in the pan, no heat shielding and no hangers.
