A bird in the hand as they say. You can always trade in for the ordered Mav later.

I would chill and wait, and here's why. First I think Cactus Gray is an awesome color, while white screams "fleet vehicle". Second, while you are waiting maybe the 2025 refresh is shown in public (Ford showed the 2025 Explorer refresh yesterday), and you you might decide to cancel your order to get the nicer stuff. The big New York auto show is coming up in a month, and Ford has a history of reveals there.

You have to call it, but I would wait. I waited a year and a month myself, although I confess I was one week from buying a Santa Cruz off the lot when my Ford email arrived.

Don’t you all get so tired of this silly waiting game. This has been going on too long. Another manufacturer needs to come out with a small truck to kick Ford into high gear.

Color = personal preference. Spray bedline = I negotiated with my LineX dealer and paid what Ford charges, $495. So don't let them or dealer charge you more. And LineX sprays the top rail behind the rear window which Ford factory job doesn't. LineX sprayed my entire tailgate, Ford didn't.

Note on color: In my environment, white is cooler during the summer. Sure, Oxford White is used on many fleet vehicles but it is also popular on F150's and 250's. In low light conditions, white stands out. Not so much in snow but neither does gray against pavement or in low light conditions.

It’s hard to do just wait. I ordered a 23 XLT Hybrid with spray in liner, trailer hitch, and “full size spare”. I ordered September 17, 2022 and took delivery on August 29, 2023. It was exactly what I wanted and I have no regrets at all! You will thank yourself for wait.

Any thoughts on how long the wait could be? I was hoping that since I got in early, my dealer has the allocations and the order banks are still open, maybe I had a chance of getting it in less than a year.
I ordered XL Hybrid July 17 - my dealer had good allocations AND no 2023 rollovers. Built December 23, shipped January 21, and currently on the train in-transit.

Couldn’t walk away and couldn’t be happier. The dealership installed the line-x bed liner and I will DYI the hitch receiver.
