Let me say that I now re all why I hate car dealerships. My Mav reminded me to change the oil, and I had a couple warranty things for them to look at too (wonky rear seatbelt sensors, the dash rattle, and the 12v shutting off as soon as I take the key out i e , probable battery issue))
I used the dealer's website to make an appointment for Monday morning, and dropped it off Sunday night. They still have it, no ETA. Turns out the service advisor that the system assigned it too was off Monday, so they didn't even look at it until Tuesday. Got one call Monday, but none from the service advisor. Once I called him, he said he was going to call me back but didn't. Today I went to the dealership and had to wait 20 minutes for him and he didn't know what the tech was doing. He's supposed to call tomorrow and will offer a loaner if it's not done tomorrow (Friday). I'd rather have my truck back since I have some truck things I'd like to do this weekend.
I'll keep you posted.

Leave them a review on Google Maps. It's fairly likely they will respond and try to make it right.

If they don't, use a different Ford dealership next time if you have that option.

I'm in San Diego, North County coastal. Let me know when you find a good dealer. I think dealerships are one of the weak links in the FoMoCo business model.

That said, when I purchased my '22 EB Lariat off the lot, Fritts Ford in the Riverside area was great for the purchase. A bit too far to go for service.

I special ordered my '24 hybrid Lariat from my neighborhood dealer, Encinitas Ford and it was a terrible purchase experience.

But Encinitas Ford did send a mobil service tech to perform three recall items in my driveway in under 45 minutes and that was convenient.

I'm north county inland (Poway).
I bought mine at North County Ford, and the order/purchase experience was marginal, only worked out because the salesman was a personal friend. Too far to go for service though, plus the friend since retired to Missouri. The Poway dealer did handle the recall repair with the mobile tech and it was fine.
Honestly, from now on I'll be using the dealer only for warranty (hopefully rarely!!), and will go back to my very honest long time personal mechanic for oil changes and maintenance.

This is the way.

"He didn't know what the tech was doing" What! Why doesn't he know, did he ask him?

Friday night update:
They still have it, and didn't give me an ETA. But they did get me a loaner, an almost brand new (160 miles) Bronco Sport, which is quite nice. (Won't carry mulch like I was planning to do this weekend with the Mav though.)

I bet you could strip the rear seats out of there pretty easily and you should be able to stuff a whole bunch of mulch in.

Except.I am getting loose bulk mulch in the bed, from the local yard waste recycler. Much cheaper than bags from the Home Despot or garden center. (Like, free to take.)

It's January. You can put off your mulch project for another month or two.

CD-SM - RE: Hauling mulch - When you get your Mav back, if you haven't done this, get a tube of auto quality seam sealer [I used the product from 3M] and seal the seams on both sides of the bed where the floor meets the sides. This prevents crud from lodging in the seam.

If you have a plastic bed liner, this may not be as necessary. However I have the spray-in and the seam needed to be filled.

Also, if you haven't purchased the rectangular plastic piece that seals the large opening in the bottom of the tailgate, either purchase it or use a piece of duct tape to cover the opening. Even if you lay down a tarp, crud will lodge in places you never knew existed.

I already did the tailgate hole, but I will look at the side seams. I just have a bed mat, not a liner.

That doesn't change the fact that stripping the rear seats out will help you stack a lot of mulch in the B-Sport. Wouldn't even need to tarp to keep it from blowing away!
