So here is an update on stuff….

I delivered my Maverick to Carvana yesterday. Selling it was a bit of a hassle dealing with the computer. I was $1800 upside down on my loan so I paid that off to match Carvana’s offer of $26,200.

The computer never acknowledged that for two weeks. I had two offers expire without selling it. Then I got an offer of $25,400.

Not selling for THAT!

So I listed it on FB Marketplace for $25,999 and within 8 hours the Carvana BOT must have found my ad and my offer jumped to $26,400!

Sold.

Kinda scary though… I live in WI… bought the truck in WI… Carvana is in AZ…. The Maverick was titled in TX… Chase bank is in Louisiana!!!

Signed everything on my phone.

As far as my health… my oncologist doesn’t really use terms like stage 2/stage 3. He orders the treatments, sees me every Wednesday and gives me an update.

I can say the tumor in my jaw and tongue is significantly smaller than it was in November. The pain, while never acute, is almost gone.

I have been on chemo and radiation for four weeks now. Three to go. I’m beat. Very weak. Gotta sit to pee because I’m too weak to stand very long.

I’m on a feeding tube. With a couple exceptions I haven’t had any solid food for one month. I have lost about 26 lbs which is good. I’m smart enough now to keep that weight off now.

Today my grandson Ritchie and I will drive 180 miles to pickup an ‘05 Buick LeSsbre which is the replacement for the Maverick. 160 rounds… well kept Grandpacar with excellent maintenance but has a bad trans.

I pick up the replacement trans on Tuesday ( my mechanic and I will replace the shift solenoids in that “new” trans next week… a common issue in high mile GM speed transmissions of the era).

The new ride will be roadworthy next weekend I hope.

I had two Buicks before the Maverick and those 3.8 V6 engines are great. So we have another. $1000 car should last until I assume room temperature.

They're doing some amazing things now and it sounds like you're in excellent hands......wishing the best for you. Stay strong!
Go with Carvana, they always offer more because they make there money with finanacing, not profit on resale.

You sound like a great guy, not letting cancer get the best of you. My brother in law went through the same things your going through, he beat cancer 4 times including tongue, and throat cancer. You will win this battle, and all your Maverick buddies can't wait to hear you ring that "no more cancer" bell.

I had an assistant who beat three separate stage 4 cancers, yers apart!

(the last one, though, left her unable to work.)

Rick,
I don't know if you're still following the Forum
Touching base, to see how you are doing.
Just because you don't post, doesn't mean that you're forgotten about.
