Good day, all!
LED lighting, gang switch, and wiring topic here.
I’ve installed three sets of LED lights on my 2025 XL hybrid truck. I have one set pointing backwards. This set has a white DRL and then a white flood light option.
I installed an M&R 8-gang switch in the engine compartment which also has the ability to trigger a light set to automatically turn on with a certain vehicle operation. I want to tap a wire, hopefully, within the engine compartment to trigger my DRL. Then a separate wire tap to trigger the backup/reverse lights.
Thus my two questions:
1. Any suggestions on which wire to tap for the DRL in the engine compartment?
Follow-up - DMAT gave me the suggestion to tap the blue wire on the headlight.
2. Any suggestions on which wire to tap for the backup lights in the engine compartment? I want to avoid running a wire back to the taillights.
Follow-up - DMAT suggested running a wire to the tailights, but let me know if there are any other options/ideas.
Many thanks for your time! I'll post some updates once I have this all looking and operating as I want it.
