What color is your truck? Other features (CP360, etc)?

Congratulations on your good fortune! Enjoy your Maverick!
It's Velocity Blue. I had no say in its features, since I happened upon its availability. It has the XLT luxury package, tow hitch, and a spray in bed liner. I would have liked a sliding rear window, but no. I'm happy to have cruise and heated seats; tickled with the heated steering wheel.

I'm sure we will have less than 48 hours to wait til he gets a new name. He seems to be trying to get banned quicker with each new name. This one lasted less than 2.5 hours.

I didn't order a Maverick. I don't know anyone with one or who had ordered one. I had no hope of getting one. I had driven an ecoboost last summer but I really wanted a hybrid vehicle. I lucked into one -all in the timing. I've been looking at Mavericks since the beginning and have watched many videos and built one on the Ford website many times. I wasn't able to order a 2022 and the 2023 order window closed before I knew it. So, every so often, I would hunt for someone selling one but couldn't find a hybrid or one with the right combination of features or right price. I've been doing that for nearly 2 years.

Fast forward to the last couple of days....I needed a new vehicle but I live in a tough market. I was looking at a Rav4 hybrid but they were too uncomfortable. I made an offer yesterday on a used Highlander hybrid but the dealer wouldn't deal and the price was too high. There was no other hybrid Highlander (for under $40,000) in my market. I came home around 2pm and debated on the next vehicle to look for. I was scrolling through Autotrader and I saw it! I doubted, however, that it was real since most of these are already sold to customers. I looked at the ad again...it was a hybrid. On a whim, I called the dealer and the salesman said it was available. I thanked him and hung up. I debated back and forth -I had nearly decided that I was going to limp my van along. I called the dealer back about 5 minutes later and told him I was going to look at it, drove the 35 minutes, and arrived there and test drove it. The salesman said he'd only found out 45 minutes earlier that it was available. Someone had ordered it but it took too long and they didn't want it. He said 4 other people had called about it, in addition to me. After the test drive, I told him that I'd purchase it.

It was exactly the model and package that I'd built on the Ford site many times: the XLT with the luxury and tow hitch. YES! And to think, I'd made an offer on a Highlander 2 hours before that. And, it was 12 years to the day that I purchased the Odyssey I'd been driving. It's like it was meant to be.

Congratulations! I am happy for you. I look forward to when I can look out my door and see the Maverick I am hoping for. Enjoy your truck.
