i tried a usb stick with my music and it didn't work so i doubt the adapter will work. byt the music on the memory from my phone work well
Too bad your USB stick doesn't work. I have a 64GB USB key drive (stick) and I rarely even use the SiriusXM that I added to my XL. You might try reformatting your USB stick to Fat32 or other Windows formatting and reloading your music. Good luck.

Anyone make any progress on a SiriusXm adapter of some sort for the Maverick. Cell coverage is sketchy in my area so using the cell pone is not a great option. The one company I found (VAIS) makes adapter modules, but said they don't currently make one for the Maverick, but to check back near the end of the year. I miss the Sat radio, and don't really want to mess with cables and other receivers etc cluttering up things.
Good question. I've researched this question quite a bit and it is interesting, because the same ACM unit Harman makes for Europe and it has a Satellite Radio antenna input and SiriusXM can be enabled. But I've not found one that I can actually buy. I gave up when I got my XL and installed a SiriusXM Commander Touch Radio with separate display.

For comparison, this is a photo of the XL ACM connections. Please ignore the red circle, but notice the blank to the left of the blue GNSS connector. On the European Harman CTR, this empty spot is the SDARS which is Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service. See, the next diagram from the Harman CTR Manual.

Finally, attached is the ACM CTR User Manual with Satellite information. I've been looking for this ACM to purchase but I haven't found it yet. You would think it would be available from junk yards, etc., but to no avail, at least 8 or 9 months ago.

I'm thankful for this thread to remind me that I would like to find one.

I bought a usb C to aux adapter and I didn’t work. I’m gonna try a usb A to aux adapter eventually and see if that one will work. The sirus xm radio I bought has a built in fm transmitter so it’s not to big of a deal..but I’d much rather have an aux input over fm transmitter.
I've probably purchased 7-8 different adapters last November and nothing worked, but then we are trying to find an adapter that coverts analog to digital. If you found one, it would be rather expensive, at least I think.

@Shay has put a Genuine XM satellite radio in his MAV but it had a separate antenna. The wire running did not look like fun.
I ran an antenna wire from the center of the rear cab behind the shark fin to the SiriusXM Commander Touch module. It only took me about 30-45 minutes and there are plenty of ways to do so. I'm 75 and everything I do takes me at least twice as long as it used to. 😅

I have reported my experiences and travails of installing the Commander Touch in my thread, My humble review of my new Velocity Blue Maverick XL, and it begins at this post: #97. 😉

I rented the Maverick shop manual from Helm for a few days to better understand the Maverick infotainment system and the difference between the standard radio and Sync 3. And I discovered some information that leads me to believe all Mavericks have a SiriusXM antenna factory installed. The shop manual says that the cellular signals for FordPass are received by a cellular antenna integral to the roof antenna. The shop manual also says that the radio gets its compass heading from a GPS antenna, also integral with the roof antenna. The wiring diagram shows an XM antenna integral with the AM, FM, cellular, and GPS antennae in the roof. The parts directory says that there is only one roof antenna that receives AM, FM, cellular, and GPS, and it receives satellite radio as well. All Mavericks can receive cellular through Ford Pass and have a compass display. Therefore, I am led to the conclusion that all antennae in all Mavericks can receive satellite radio as well as cellular and GPS.

The wiring diagram further goes on to show that there is one coaxial cable carrying both AM & FM signals that goes to the center input on the back of the radio head; and another coaxial cable carrying GPS and satellite radio goes to the outermost input. The third input, the innermost, is not used in North America, since it is for Digital Audio Broadcasting, only available in countries in Europe and elsewhere. Therefore, you should be able to use a male Fakra to male SMB adopter (available from Amazon) to connect that outer co-ax cable to an after-market SiriusXM radio - if you are willing to forfeit the compass display - and, if required, the Sirius antenna selector to the factory radio with a female DIN to female Fakra adopter.

Also, you might want to experiment with Ford’s GPS/XM splitter, Ford part No. 10E928, and see if you can use it to reconnect the GPS to the radio.

And since the Maverick does not have an Aux input, does anyone have any experiences using a phone jack to USB adopter to connect an XM radio Aux output to the Maverick USB input?

Although it was ordered 9 months ago, I don’t have a production date for my Maverick yet, so I can’t try it it. But if someone wants to try to connect their after-market XM radio to this factory cable, please let us know of the results. The wiring diagram and parts catalog could be wrong.
FYI this thing works great and yes, my phone connects first, then this. Both work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TBPLHO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I necromogered this as i didnt want a new thread. I know nothing of satellite radio other than that our other vehicle came with it and it is as easy as humble pie. I got used to it and took it for granted until we got our BASE, really base 2022 XL hybrid. No satellite, almost no nothing excempt an excellent efficient vehicle. I am faced with another huge cross country drive, in a few days and long for the music and even the podcast to break the rut of an 800 mile day drive. Explain it to me as though I were a child. Cant I get Sirrius on my iPhone and sync/link to the Maverick base audio system ? Thanks ! I read the above responses in abject horror !!!

If you have xm in another vehicle just use the xm app and CarPlay.

This is what I do, and it works great. Since I don't have any other vehicles with SXM, I'm pretty sure I switched to a streaming-only plan, and it was cheaper.

I currently have a tuner in my mustang on the aftermarket radio for Sirius and the app in my truck. But I’m hoping soon to have a sync 3 plug and play kit for hd radio and Sirius built in. I love having it natively in the truck’s infotainment.

So, the free trials in both other vehicles expired. Both Hyundai Elantras. I gather from the above replies, the answer to my question is - yes. And I want to get a streaming only subscrition. IMHO the stuff in our base XL is the worst of anything I have ever seen, worse and a retrograde to a 2013 Hyundai. Thanks for the replies, I will do a little research before I give Sirrius all my info while getting no info in return and hoping that Mav recognizes the iPhone, the connection of which is irrational and problematic at best.

I’m hoping the guy from naviupgrade.com is able to put a sync 3 kit together for me. We spoke yesterday on the phone he’s going to get back to me next weekend. I’m hoping he’s able to get one together for me.
