Based off of the idea they build 77,800 Mavericks Ford will build 27,230 Hybrids out of 77,800 (35%).

45% are planned to be built as XLT or 12,253

That’s means
3,063 lux with Hitch 25%
2,450 hitch stand a lone option 20%
6,739 without a hitch 55%

As much as I want a hitch seems like ditching the hitch gets the odd of getting a hybrid 35% higher. But in general 1 out 6739 builds seems like it will be a big ask. Guess I will have to hope the dealership gets stock and give up on the hybrid or just do something different unless I get really lucky. But I also teach history so my math skills may be flawed.

I believe you only need to be concerned about options/packages that are on the constraint list. The trailer hitch is not on the list of constraint items.

I wouldn’t go by that. Constraints will change over the course of production. We have no idea what they can and can’t down the road. IMO The biggest thing to worry about is what state your in and how big of a dealer with allocations you have.

It's a truck.

Even if you don't believe that, it is very truck-like.

Hitch should be 100% a standard item like tailgate. It should be on each and every one made.

You don't tow? Ever? Who gives a fuck.
It's not like it's in the way and it's a very low cost item.

The number of hitches made should be the same as the number of Mavericks made.

Dealer size matters not. Ratio of orders to allocations matters.

hmm. I ordered my almost fully loaded lariat hybrid in Sept. It has trailer hitch as i did get all the packages possible. Its build date is Dec 19. Guess I just got lucky.
Ford said they were prioritizing hitches for packaged builds. The standalone is what is the problem.

I agree hitch should be standard. Luckily I don’t have to tow or can work around.

As the originator of this spreadsheet, I caveat that this was based on the assumption Ford schedules only 77,800 more trucks based on the capacities given by Tim last week.

But even then, there is a problem with the numbers.

Tim mentioned the hitch numbers include the packages. Assuming the 4K uses a different hitch altogether, the planned capacity for the XLT and Lariat Lux packages would account for 48,236 hitches... which is well over the 35,010 hitches Ford planned. So, that would mean Ford doesn't even have enough hitches to meet the demand for the Lux capacity they planned...ignoring orders altogether.

So, standalone hitches are going to be a problem. That's not to say no one gets them; just that its true constraint is a lot lower.

Maybe Ford will get a load of hitches soon.
Nothing stays the same for long.
Also I belive the hitch is the same on all trims.
You get the 7 pin and 4 pin withe the tow package.
Only the 4 pin for stand alone.

Not disagreeing, but keep in mind that the first scheduled 23s have included a lot of stand alone hitches.
For sure, and they are probably going to build a lot of mavericks with standalone hitches. We are all just playing the odds a little.

4 pin is standard on the lux packages (non 4k)

Yep, agreed. We all have our theories. I am still on team-alloction. Meaning, lots of people are doing a lot of napkin math spreadsheets and charts talking about this and that option and trim, but I think the biggest thing, and the only one that is really dealing with actual known variables, is knowing your dealers allocation : order ratio.

There are a lot of dealers with more orders than allocations, so buh bye to those orders. With those orders gone, that gives a significant amount of build flexibility for the remaining orders.
