Someone on the Maverick subreddit posted their GeoPro 14FK a while back and I fell in love with it. Definitely what I plan on looking for, or something very similar, in the future here. 14ft, 2100lbs, would be the perfect little camper IMO.

Doable with the hybrid also. Just be gentle on long hills and such. Especially if you can fill up with water at your destination and dump before you leave.... water / waste water can add or delete 250 to 500 pounds.

What are people's thoughts on this camper trailer with a 4k Maverick? I know it's within the towing ratings, but I worry about it being a giant sail. It's something that I would likely have 4-6k a rear of travelling with on a mountain bike trips? I have also thought about the airstream basecaml 16 but I think this is better built and better vaule.

I have towed numerous trailers, none with a Mav; suggest something smaller. When you push the envelope, you have no margin. I have done that to my regrets. Just my observations. LOL

I just got my Scamp 1 week ago. The dry weight is around 2200 pounds with a gross weight of 3500 pounds. My wife towed it home 300 miles (I was sick at home :( ). With a cross wind of 19 mph and driving 65 mpg, she had no sway at all! The only downside to ordering a Scamp...it is a 1 to 1.5 year wait...it was 1 year for us.

You gotta be willing to slow down.
The heavier you go, the slower you should go.

For me, the Mav is my daily commute vehicle. I plan to tow ( on the heavy side ) but just 3 or 4 weekends a year. For those days, it's just fine for me to keep it 55-60 MPH. I had a Silverado 2500 HD that would tow anything (at 9 MPG) but I could neither justify driving that to work every day, or let it sit parked for 10 months a year.

2800 lbs unload, 3500 max payload. full sway bar setup(recommended on any non full size truck)

Handles it perfect in very steep mountain conditions. Done thousands of Km's with this thing. Its a beast.

Your Mav will love that setup. Much better than mine. I towed mine for the first time from NC to TX. Over 1000 miles it was 100% empty so even though it's a 1979 21 footer it wasn't bad. I weighed everything before I dropped it off where I store it and the trailer weighed in at 3580# power and pulling was no issues at all. I could have sped up a little, but I was trying to get some mpgs. I kept it at 65. The winds from big trucks was the biggest issue. I will link my thread below, I did a pretty detailed write up with my impressions.

The tongue weight is at or over the maximum of 400 pounds permitted with the 4k Tow Package. And that's DRY weight. Add in storage, some water and gray/black tank weight and you'd be way over.

The Eclipse has a heavy tongue weight with the kitchen up front. The Dawn model is well below the 400# tongue weight.

I might get one and change those tires to highway tires...our backroads here in Oregon don't need those tires that are on it.

Do you have the 19' sort of 5th wheel? I really like the pics I've seen and waiting on delivery of my new Mav. Thanks

We have the 16 foot. We are retired and the trailer is just for the two of us.
