Run-around

So I ordered my XLT lux in August of 23, was given my vin and production date. The production date came and it switched to in production and there it has stayed since Jan 22. Tracking says in production, but ford chat said that it was back from the body shop last week with a delivered to me in nh date of feb 24th to march 1st. Anyone have any similar interactions? I know it takes forever but my ranger is on its last leg and I don’t want to put any more money into it.

That sounds about right. Mine was built on the 18th of Dec And shipped on the 21st and I got it in Brunswick Ga on the 21 of january, The tracker didn't change to built until the day it actually shipped. and was a week later that it changed to ship even though I knew it had shipped because I was able to track the rail car it waas on.

Even once it gets off the train, it can sit in the rail yard for weeks. Mine sat in the KCMO rail yard for about 3 weeks, before it was finally put on a truck and delivered to my dealer. My total wait time from order to pick up was about 13 months.

It's always risky if you have an "on its last legs" vehicle and try to order something to replace it that's in high demand.

I ordered my maverick a month before I got my ranger, sold my f150 private sale and just planned on dumping as little money as possible into the ranger until the mav arrives.

That's normal. When your truck is build, the tracker will revert back to in production for some reason before you get the shipping update. Once on the rail, the delivery estimate can change, mine changed three times when it was shipped on Dec. 13th. The train arrived on the rail yard on Jan. 7th and didn't get transported via truck until the 25th. So, it was sitting on the yard for almost three weeks. My total wait time was about 470 days.

apparently the image of the email I got didn’t get added to the thread like I meant. I got an email 3-4 days ago saying production was planned for the 22nd but they’re sorry that the supply chain has messed everything up but they’re trying to get it to production. So conflicting info from email, to tracker, and chat.

The "supply chain issues, blah blah blah" message sounds like the standard one that's often sent out every 45 days.

Getting conflicting/changing info during the entire order/build/ship process is pretty much par for the course.

Mine was built on December 22, and shipped December 23rd. The dealership called January 13th and said it has arrived, and scheduled me to come in Monday the 15th to pick it up.

Well, updated today. Went from in production to, order confirmed…… anyone have anything similar happen? Has been in production prior to that since 1/23/24

Yep. Seen that exact same thing. Should be corrected to built in 2-3 days.

Had mine "built" with modules popped and back from body shop (spray in bedliner) but Ford can't tell me why it hasn't shipped and dealer has "no idea" as to status. Frustrating
