Just installed the Perimeter Plus on my Maverick. The hardest part was figuring where to mount it. I zip tied it to the bolts coming through the firewall. Open the box, take out contents, put in black jumper into the box, unhook cable from behind OBD port, plug in provided cable, plug cable into the Perimeter Plus, hook up LED if you ordered it and you are done. Five minutes and some contorting your body but easy. It was plug and play - to activate get in close door, turn key to run position allow everything to boot up, turn key off, you will hear the doors lock and the signal light indicators will flash a couple of times. You're good to go, get out and hit lock, unlock, and lock within five seconds and enjoy the vehicle coming to life.
Hardest part of the install is figuring out where to mount it I promise. From what I read it needs to be standing up if possible that is why I chose the two upper bolts coming through the firewall. I took two zip ties and put through the PP then took two and looped through those to secure around the bolts. It fit perfect between the two upper bolts and lays on the carpet padding/noise barrier that is right there. I just have to figure out what size drill bit it takes for the LED and figure out where to put it. But it works fine. I popped my door handle it set off the alarm, closed the tail gate it set off the alarm.
Edit - missed typing off in the last sentence
Can you take a picture of how you have the module mounted? I can't seem to figure it out. I can tell you one thing... laying upside down, folded into a pretzel in the driver's side footwell is not a pleasant experience. I can only stay down there a few minutes at a time.

Thank you! I saw those but no matter how I put the module up to them, I could not figure how to mount it without the plastic case rattling against them.

Thanks again for the picture! I had to put a 3rd ziptie around the remaining bolt to keep mine 100% solid. I must just be getting old because I could not do all of this in one go, I had to come out and allow blood flow back to my brain for a few minutes before getting back under there.

I have the sensitivity set to max, but when I kick my trailer hitch or a tire, I get no chirps. If I have the truck locked with the window down and give the steering wheel a slight hammer fist, it chirps. I'd really like it to make a chirping noise if my truck gets backed into or if someone is trying to steal my wheels. Have you had similar experiences with your vehicle? Can you test this on your vehicle and let me know? I'm thinking the vibrations are simply not making it to the module meaning I might need to find a different location to mount it.

I had mine go off when a cat visited my truck the other night, I set it using the roll down the window method and stiking the steering wheel from instructions I found on the web. Seems to believe as taught as I have the ties it gets the inputs it needs to pick up vibrations.

I don't have this specific unit (yet), but for the years when I installed other security system shock sensors, the best way to mount them was to zip tie them to a large harness (typically the ignition harness). That allowed the best transfer of vibration.

Based on the picture posted, I would zip tie it to the harness with the orange tape and give that a try. The way it is mounted now, the padding and firewall will absorb almost everything.

She is pretty sensitive there, it has gone off twice since being mounted there once a loud stereo going down the street set it off so I had to adjust the sensitivity and the other time someone flicked my door handle. I am happy with it there.

Mine was in the "middle" when I got it so I turned it to the left and it made it too sensitive so I turned it back to the right and that seems to have solved the issue.

That's fair and I'm glad it's working as intended on your build. I was merely suggesting a possible solution to what the other poster was dealing with.
