Red on red -- bright red lettering on Hot Pepper Red tailgate?

I’m considering putting bright red lettering on my Hot Pepper Red tailgate. Any comments? Has anyone else done something similar? I think lettering just a shade darker or lighter than the trucks paint color would look fantastic. Hopefully someone has done it and can post photos.

That's subtle and I like the idea. I think slightly darker red lettering would look great.

Reminds me of seeing ghost flames in a paint job. You notice the detail only when you're up close.

I went with the Matte Black letters that match all the plastics on the truck. Looks more factory then Red letters in my opinion.

I prefer the subtle color contrast look for my tailgate lettering. I wanted gray color that matched XLT wheels but couldn’t find so I went with raised chrome letters on my iconic silver. I recommend raised lettering to enhance the contrast.

I did gloss black from TufSkinz. I like the color pop and contrast against the Oxford White.

Ended up settling on black. Looks factory as you said. I’m keeping with the red and black theme.

Too bad you couldn't get letters to match your wheels. But, the black does match all the plastic trim.

Hot Pepper Red. The sun had set is why it looks darker. The paint looks different depending on available light.

My "Trucklet" is Azure Grey, and I went with the carbon raised lettering. It looks great against the Azure Grey ... very subtle. It actually appears darker in this pic, not so much in real life.
My next choice was the HPR, but the AG got to the dlrshp first. I like your idea of red-on-red. Show us pics when done!
