Has anyone had any problems with Apple Car play recently? Lariat trim. A wireless Car Play adapter has worked flawlessly for almost 7 months. Started having problems while on a recent 12 hour drive. Cannot even connect with a wired connection. Bought a new wireless adapter, still no success. Any thoughts? Strange and frustrating. Says that Car Play is turned on in the system.

Troubleshoot. How does it work wired directly via USB-C with a good quality cable, not one of those Dollar Store ones. Next check for update. You have a Lariat, so SYNC 3 I believe, not sure of the version for that as I have an XLT.

Troubleshoot. How does it work wired directly via USB-C with a good quality cable, not one of those Dollar Store ones. Next check for update. You have a Lariat, so SYNC 3 I believe, not sure of the version for that as I have an XLT.
In addition, try using a different phone to see if it's an iProblem or a problem with the truck's Infotainment system.

UPDATE: After a bit more trouble shooting it appears that my USB-A port is no longer working. Guess that would explain why I couldn't access Car Play with a cable either. When I finally got a USB-C cable, it started right up again. Thankful there was a second option with the USB-C. Thanks for the responses!

Sorry to bring back an old thread... but I have a similar issue... My USB-A port will charge my phone but CarPlay will not launch. On a rare occasion I can wiggle it around and it may launch.. but usually goes away in a few seconds. No issue at all with the C port. Should I take this to dealer?

I have tried:
  • Resetting audio system
  • resetting phone
  • forgetting the device (both ways)
  • multiple cables

Sounds like the port has (mostly) failed. Probably should get it replaced under warranty if you can.
