BOY would that have been a gig! = "Go pull one off the line, plug in the block heater and watch it all night"!
Not so bad....boring, but I think over the years most of us have done much worse jobs for waaaay less! ;-)

Tools needed:

a smoke detector, extension cord with 110 v power, a thermometer gun, a nice pillow, blanket and loud alarm clock.

Work work work, back to work.

So, just to keep it simple… Engine Block Heaters are an option. Most of us don’t need one. If it’s not listed on your Monroney (Window) sticker, then there is nothing to worry about this time around…

Honestly I had one on my 2023 tremor and it was poorly done. My Colorado had a plug right in the grill. The Maverick you have to open the hood every time.

Furthermore I never noticed a difference when using it. Ecoboost still idled high and rough for the same amount of time

I made a vow years ago to never live in a place where you have to plug the engine block in at night.
Oh, to dream the dream...cue Monty Python now..."Whots Thet Loik?"

But really, I have to have a heated garage to attain this dream...as hollow as that may feel when the big door opens come November...It gets cold enough here to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Still remember the first real live palm tree...beautiful.

Sigh, now we wait to see what comes of this latest bit of news.

I would suggest that it is best to not use the Engine Block heater until this issue is resolved.

Ford will have a team assembled to look at the problem and options on how to resolve whatever the problem is.

We are at the end of May, no one should need to use one for quite some time now (in North America)...till winter comes back.

Applicable vehicle owners should be informed by Ford when more is known as to whst to do.

Cheers

Andy

Thx, I contacted my dealer and they are not aware of this issue, but took a note of it.
