My kids gave me this for Christmas and i couldn't wait to install it.
I wish I knew about these when I had my previous Dodge Ram trucks since I have bad knees needing replacement. :~(
Out of the box, they are made for full size trucks so I had to cut 3"+/- off the inner tube and re-drill holes for the adjustable detend springs(or what ever you call them) I do need to figure some antitheft lock that won't get in the way when the tailgate is down since I live in a shaddy part of North Sacramento, Ca...
Here's the link. Price was $89.00 on amazon. For better grip, I got the one with the flat steps, not round tubes. I can use the bed side to grip onto so the hand rail is not needed.

Nice solution. Meanwhile, I am hoping Ford will build a bumper step into the rear bumper. That was one of the only features I liked about my 2016 GMC Canyon.

You have had some time post-installation of you tailgate ladder. Any different thoughts on its utility and the specific product you received that is available through EBay And Amazon?

Nice. I like this idea and it's cool to see someone use one from the full size trucks that actually told us how they modified it to work for the Maverick. Thank you for sharing that.

I'm also a huge fan of the tailgate and bumper steps that GM offers. I had to add an AMP Research step to every other truck I've owned. No solution to mount them on something like a Maverick though and even if there was, they would be very low and you'd still need almost another full step to make it worth it.

What did you do tailgate step wise?
I lowered mine with Eibach Pro kit. it’s not much of a climb anymore. I really like the ladder solutions for the tall trucks though. I’m too old to fall off while climbing.

Nice. Would be better if the ladder had a quick release so you could remove when not wanted. Don't think I would want it on there all the time.

I am very happy with the product so far...
One small issue is that the ladder is power coated so there are some deep crevices that didn't get the power coating and a light water/rust run off is visible on the painted surface and it can be wiped off.. Not enough for me to be worried or unhappy about.

First day with mine, I opened the tailgate and stepped onto it like every other truck ever, and there was a terrible crunching sound like there was sand/gravel in between something. Horrifying. Haven't been able to find any damage or scratches, luckily. Now I just step on the tire and go up over the side.

I'll put this one in my amazon list for when the knees finally give up.

I'm happy with it. It will take some time getting used to having the clips/straps mounted on the tailgate. But it's a small sacrifice for having the steps. I've had a few lookie-loos asking questions about it. My brother picked up my unwanted hybrid order and he's going to order one, too.
On;y "issue" is that the ladder is powder coated so not getting the paint into the deep crevices has left a little rusting. No biggie. Honestly, I would have easily paid double for this. -Brian

When it is stowed, does it interfere with carrying 4X8 sheets and the tailgate at the 45 degree position? I'm curious if the 4X8 sheet still rides on the edge of the tailgate or if it rides on the step.
