Rear Seat Delete-Seat Belt Warning

I removed the rear seat and belts, now I get a a notice on my dash. I just turn it off, no biggie, but will it cause a problem when I go for an inspection sticker? Can ForScan get rid of this issue?

FORScan can remove the seat belt notification entirely. I can't answer your question about inspection since I don't know the laws of your state.

How difficult was the rear seat delete? Did you do just the bench or the backside also? Thanks - I don’t like “backseat drivers” and thinking of the delete also.

I'm in process of rear seat delete. It's just a few bolts to take out the seat and back. There are panels covering the bolts for bolting the bar to the body, but I think I'm leaving it in so I can quickly put seats back in if needed. But maybe...it would be faster to put back in if it was all assembled to the bar and I only had to reattach that...
There are some wires and seat belt bolts to remove as well.

Depends on your inspection too. I know some places they have a "seats with which it was manufactured must be in place and functional."

I know nothing about how these ones work, but I know someone who was putting heavy stuff in their back seats in an older vehicle, and had an annoying chime, they just measured resistance of sensor at no load and stuffed a resistor in the harness plug.

As long as the inspection computer doesn't throw a code, I'm good. I have some pics of the rear seat where I mounted plywood and attatched my tools, I'll post later.

Are the seatbelts still attached? you could also just go to the junkyard and get some seatbelt blanks as well and plug them in.

The boy removed the seatbelts, I think he cut the cables. I'd have preferred he didn't...

I bought a set of these for like 10 bucks. They work excellent.

I had disconnected the wiring to the rear seats and removed the lower buckles, but that still gave me warning notices. I now have the belts tucked under the boards replacing the seat cushions with these inserted. No warnings, no problems.

what's funny about these inserts, there are instructions on them saying "DO NOT USE".
