The large metal plate/bracket (with the "R") is for the Ranger. It's not used for the Maverick. The holes in the other bracket should line up with the 3 holes in your Maverick.

Have you tried removing the plastic uprights on the extender, and squeezing it together? I purchased the OE Ranger one for cheap on Marketplace. It fit once I squeezed it together.

so the holes in the bracket do line up but what are the bolts supposed to go into? on the Ford version of this there is that piece on the back that I would hold in there that has threaded holes in it. the bed of the truck just has holes, not threaded holes.

Contact Lund and see if you can get the backing plates thru them, if not try going thru Ford dealer parts department.

You could install the mounts using a washer and nut. Yes it is tight working in there, but it can be done.

I installed the Ford hard trifold on my maverick, one of the drain tube adapters was crushed. I called the manufacturer and was told I had to go thru Ford parts. Went to the dealer and they ordered the adapter for me.

This really isn't insurmountable...again worst case you get 6 washers and 6 nuts to fit the screws. The plates IMO just make it "easier" for the average DIY to complete installation.

I have not because if I might end up just trying to sell this I don't want to unpack all of that stuff. right now it's essentially a new open box item.

Summary of my experience on this issue. I went to Real Truck customer service that then forward me to the group that handles their rebates. (separate group). Their web site is www.acbcoop.com and phone I believe is 866-222-1549. Bed extender received was a Lund Bed Extender, #74825-01LR that is not compatible with my Ford Maverick compact truck. #74825-01LR delivered is for full size trucks, GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota and Nissan. Per rebate group, I sent an email to them with the issue which they would then forward the email to corporate for resolution. Within a week I got a response if I would accept a $250 visa prepaid card in lieu of bed extender. I accepted the offer and got it in the mail Monday 2 weeks + later. Bed extender is nice but down on my accessories list.

Excellent information, thank you. I've been on work travel for the past week so I haven't had a chance to work this issue more but hopefully this will get me there.

would you mind sharing the email address you used? the acbcoop site seems to be mostly geared towards businesses looking to use their service and I've not found an email address for people like us who were the recipients of their product offerings.
