I've been trying to read the position of the grill shutters on my phone using the Torque app (paid version). Some websurfing led me to find that Ford uses the PID 220707 for the shutter position, with a A/255 modifier. Over the past couple days, I've never seen that value be anything other than a static 0.439. This led me to suspect that the data was bad, but now I'm not so sure. Further searching suggested that when the ambient temperature is low, the shutters won't close fully to avoid them potentially freezing together. It's been pretty cold here recently and my commute isn't that long, so I'm wondering if its just too cold for the shutters to close more than 43.9% and my engine hasn't been getting hot enough for the shutters to open more than 43.9%.
Thoughts? Anyone managed to read the shutter position with an app other than Forscan?
