Ranger Bed Mat Cut to Fit

My dealer told me the Maverick rubber mat won’t be available for a while — possibly months from now — so I bought a Westin 3/8” rubber mat for a new Ranger on Amazon and made it work. Cost was about $100.

You’ll need a measuring tape and new blades on a utility knife. The whole project was 40 minutes and it’s perfectly trimmed to size. I hope this helps anyone out there wanting a rubber mat but can’t wait for Ford or aftermarket options. If you take this on yourself, make sure the blade is new; the mat has threads inside like a tire, so sharpness is key.

Nice job . I bought a used ranger drop in liner for $25 and cut with jig saw to fit to protect the bed and tail gate . works great . pic posted in another thread .

Do you think if it's offest just every so slightly from all the edges, that will 100% keep water off of the mat if you have a bed cover that isn't perfectly sealed? I'm thinking water would just roll along the periphery and never be able to get onto the mat.

How heavy is that thing and can it roll up pretty easy if you wanted to take it out to move some mulch or rocks or something?

It’s heavy and won’t fly away, but also very movable if you need to throw it in the garage for some reason. And I cut it with about 1/4” gap on all sides. That will let water drain in the way the OEM bed drainage was designed. I have a tonneau coming, so I guess water won’t be an issue for long.

I got a mat at Tractor Supply years ago for a Tacoma I had. I saved it when I got ride of the truck and I plan on re-purposing it like you have done.
