Ok...thanks, that helps. The DX125.2 is cheap enough, that I'll keep it in my plans. I wonder if I need a bass restoration processor and line driver/output converter maybe like the Wāvtech bassRESTOR off the amp mono feed to isolate the 6" x 9" low frequency speaker for bass?

for front tweeters I wold be careful running them in line with front speakers. Depending on the brand and how they are made, you can blow them.

you need to make sure it has active filters and protection in place and will vary brand to brand.

for Example, a low frequency tone can destroy the tweeter if there is not proper safety HPF circuit In place.

I’m looking to upgrade my 2 front door speakers to kickers. I’m not sure if I should get an amp due to the high price of installation. How different would my sound be with or without an amp with these 2 speakers installed?

So I have gone back and forth on this myself...and I'm (at least for now) currently thinking of just installing coax speakers in the front doors. That way, I don't need to worry about ripping out/swapping tweeters or mounting a crossover. In terms of ease, this seems like the best bet.

While I'm in the door panel, I do plan on putting in some sound deadening, which will also have an improvement.

Yes, I know that I won't get the range of component speakers, but, it will still be a much simpler install and a definite improvement in sound.

The next thing I plan on doing is installing a 2-channel amp (I like the Jensen JA2B) to boost their power.

Not sure if this would work for you, but I think in terms of a straightforward place to start, it may be a good option going with just a better set of coax speakers that you can pop in yourself without any major headaches.
