So I am preparing to make a order for a 2025 Maverick with Granger. To be fair, I am fine with an XL, 2.0L EB. That gets me pretty much everything I need out of the truck (it will be mostly driven by my teenager). That said, I read that XL trims are given fewer allocations and the wait can be a long time. I might consider moving up to XLT if it makes much of a difference. Any tips from the pros? Thanks in advance!

I can recommend keeping an eye on the weekly production posts. Getting a plain Jane xl, ford makes little off of them and with the EB engines limited availability just makes it worse. Whatever you do, no spray on bedliner and mudflaps.

As an old (Baby Boomer) six-sigma trained product manager, I tend to use an analytical heirarchy to prioritize what I require. You can simplify this by using a priority matrix. You must decide which of the following are to be constrained, optimized, and accepted: features, cost, and time.

If you want it fast, accept that cost is going to be high since Tremor and Lariat versions will be easier to get. Features are fairly fixed and this is another reason why these tend to be easier to get.

If you want it cheap, accept that it could take awhile (but it will get delivered eventually if your dealer receives a lot of allocations). Feature choices, are once again, rather limited.

I learned that I would rather wait and get what I want (through a high-volume dealer since they are getting allocations). And with production being high enough to start keeping up with demand, I suspect you won't have to wait as long as the early adopters to get what you want.

In summary, I think you should order exactly what you want and be patient for it to arrive. Yet, I don't know your situation and whether or not you need something soon.

PS. I am no expert. :)

A ‘25 XL Eco should be built fine. It was the XL Hybrids that there were too many orders for.

The Eco limited availability, mentioned above, is for ‘24.

The more important thing is the number of allocations, which I believe Granger gets plenty of. So then it would be how many XL Eco order they already have. They should be able to help you with that.

The suspicions are that the Maverick depend will be less this year. You have the camp of people that hate the front, so they will not be upgrading. And you have the camp of people that really want the Hybrid AWD; which wouldn’t impact your Eco order.

Have you considered current stock on a 2024 EB? I see discounts now in my area where there were ADM's. You might be able to get an XLT w/CP360 for less than a 2025. Of course, no Sync 4.

To see what's available, go to the Ford website ->trucks--> Mav--> build and price--> locate--> add the radius from your ZIP you are willing to shop.

Then go to specific dealer websites and negotiate online with their "Internet" department without running all over town. Be sure to get an ITEMIZED out the door price in writing.

I am also a Six Sigma trained Boomer lol - former production coordinator.
I like the way you think 👍😊

I definitely am getting a 2025 for Sync 4. Pretty well listen exclusively to Sirius XM when I drive, and don't want to have to use a phone app to do so.

When I ordered my 25 at Granger, Chip said he had 30 Mavericks on order. Most of them were Hybrids. He seemed to think my EB order would come fairly quickly. I ordered a 25 EB XLT with the the Luxury package as the only other thing I ordered.
