Curious for those that have ordered their truck from a dealer that's a good distance away from home. .... what was your experience if/when you had issues after purchase? If you had the dead battery, or turn signal issue etc, did you have an option of going to a local dealer or did you drive the few hours to go to the dealer you purchased from? Just curious how that all works. thanks

....did you have an option of going to a local dealer.....
There is nothing tying you to the dealership you purchased from. Nobody needs to give you "the option" to go to a local dealership's service department.

In fact, often the service department of a dealership is almost a completely different animal, almost like they are a separate business, yet on the same property. Any Ford Service Department is going to service your Maverick. Near or far.

Now will they be a tiny bit nicer to you if it is the same dealership you bought from? Maybe.....

But then again, I live in Seattle and bought from Kansas. I am not going to drive the 1,700 miles (one way) for an oil change. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I purchased 3 cars from out of state. Two from Granger and a Subaru in NJ. I live in Texas.

You can take your Maverick to any Ford dealer, in your country, for warranty repairs. In fact, most dealers will want your warranty business even if you did not buy the car from them. The service department is a profit center for the dealer and as such they will want as much business as they can get. Warranty work usually pays well.

Assuming you are purchasing in another state, depending on where you buy getting the title from some dealers is just as seamless as if you bought it in state. Many dealers will process the paperwork for you and mail you the new plate. Granger Ford is a little different in that they arrange for an Iowa transfer title that I took to my tax office and paid the taxes on the car and got the license plate myself. Having done it both ways there are pluses and minus to each and for me either way is fine.

Many folks are finding better prices and fewer hassles / games / dealer scams on cars by going out of state and for me I will probably continue to do so. If I wanted to buy another Ford tomorrow, I would be calling Granger again.

I found a truck on www.ford.com 100 miles from my house. The finance guy sold it to me because their one and only salesman was busy. Really did not provide a lot of service, but they did deliver the car to my house the next day after prepping it. They did not install the liftgate lock that came with the truck and did not set up anything on Forscan.

I am in Milwaukee so I have a lot of dealers I could go to for service. I do not go to the closest dealer since I found a great one a few miles away. I walk in and they all say 'Hello Dave'. It is nice when they all know your name. The service I receive is fantastic. I do not fail to praise them on Facebook or in the surveys sent by Ford. They wish I had purchased my truck from them, quotas you know, but I give them all my service and my kids cars, too.

The car dealers where I am, a rural Florida Panhandle resident, refuse to negotiate and then want to bolt on an extra $$$$ for the pleasure of simply purchasing a vehicle. So I will drive a few hours to save a few thousand . . .
It's about 500 miles each way to Mullinex Ford in North Palm Beach . . . But here we are . . .

I ordered by phone and purchased my XL Hybrid from a small town dealer about 2 hrs away. Excellent ordering/buying experience, with no deposit, no high pressure or markups. I had never even been in the dealership until I went to pick up my Maverick.

But I won't be using them for service because there are 3 dealerships about half as far away from me. One of which has a great service dept., with lots of Hybrid EV experience.

Anyone responding to this that completed their purchase with an out-of-state dealer... If you haven't added your recommendation (or warning) to the MTC dealership list, please use this Google Form (here) so others can go to a recommended dealer or be forewarned about others.

We were frustrated with the local (Orange County, California) dealerships and ordered my son's 2024 XL Hybrid from Galpin Ford (North Hills, California). Galpin Ford competes for the number one volume dealer in the US, and I believe they are the number one Maverick-selling dealership in the US.

My family had been buying Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs from one of three Ford dealerships in Orange County since 1964. I bought the last three new Fords from a local dealership in 2022 and 2023 before that dealership got a new GM who decided to tack on $1400 in unnecessary "services" to Retail orders and units on the lot.

The decision to purchase from Galpin Ford was based on the fact that they don't add ADMs to their Retail Orders.

In the meantime, Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas, received several large deliveries, and several folks decided not to take the Maverick they ordered. As a member of Tim's YouTube channel (@fordvideoguy), the right 2023 Maverick XLT hybrid was available.

The purchase transaction was fantastic. I would not hesitate to buy again from Long McArthur.

My son and I decided it would be fun to take a road trip home. We picked it up in Salina, Kansas, and drove it 1500 miles home the weekend before Thanksgiving.

OFFER: If anyone in California plans to buy a Maverick out of state and wants some hints on how this works with the California DMV, feel free to contact me via direct message.
