I probably won't ever run it on a dyno, unless it's a dyno day somewhere. I really don't care to find out. Real world results are what I'm after. I know some guys that showed me a dyno where a subie made 550whp, but it looked like pikes peak at redline, so I told him he'd run a mid 13, and he ran 13.5, lol. Dynos are great tools, but not one I feel that I need.

Had I dynoed it at the beginning, then yeah, seeing the difference makes sense!

Hey John!

Just wanted to say that I've been following along now for a while, lurking in the shadows of Montana. Finally decided to make an account on here. Pretty darn impressed with what you've been able to accomplish! It's been really great following along. I actually decided to buy a Maverick after reading what you've been up to! I had been intrigued after seeing what the 2.0L AWD trucks could do stock...

Anyway, I wanted to pick your brain a bit. I'm going to PM you some questions I have for my 23' Mav build. Hopefully that's okay!

Thanks!

Scott

Just a random small update. I had to tow something so I was running my 87 octane perf/tow tune with 91 in the tank, and on 19psi, in "race" trim, it put down a solid 12.95@106mph! Pretty neat even my basic tow tune, with zero revisions, will bust out a 12!!!!

I'm just posting this because I was talking online with someone about how 87 octane can see great gains with a tune/mods etc., and I know I was running 91, but the timing on this tune is extremely reserved, and I've seen great results woth 87 in the tank as well!

Carry on....

Went to the track tonight. DA wasn't perfect, but it ran decent. I was down about 3mph. Still on stock steelies and stock tires....

Small update! I was really hoping to run a smaller diameter tire at the track, on some slightly lighter wheel, but that didn't happen. I went to the junk yard because they were supposed to have a full set of 2014 Escape aluminum wheels, but it turns out someone took two of them, and left their black steelie wheels. I bought all 4 of them anyway, and what I found was that the aluminum Escape wheels weighed about 1-2lbs lighter than the stock Mav Steelies, and the Escape Steelies weighed about 5lbs MORE than the Mav's. That being said, the Escape steelies came with brand new tires on them, so that does play a small role in the weight. Here are the weights, on a crappy bathroom scale. But as long as they are all weighed on the same scale, it should be apples to apples....

Yep, all were 17's. If I ever find 16's that may fit, I'd love to try them as well. I know the A10 wheel is light and comes in 16 and 17, but I can't afford a set to test fit, lol.

Stock aluminum XLT rims are 3lbs lighter than the steelies, I weighed them both.

That's what I have heard, but I'm cheap, lol. I can find Alloy wheels all over the place for cheap. Mav wheels seem to keep going up for some reason....

I have the black FX4 wheels with some Nitto Recon Grappler rubber on them.... if interested. I haven't gotten around to listing them on here... they have TPMS sensors too. I also have the factory Pirelli tires in the garage with only a few hundred miles on them. Shipping would be the hard part but I'd be willing to help you out on the wheels, etc. Just let me know. I think I weighed the stock wheels with sensors at 24lbs...

You could always get the Ford performance RS wheels. I think I paid $100 each bc the 15% off going on. Also you can use your Ford pass points.
