Hello everyone, this will be my personal journal and build thread that will be 99% focused on performance!

As the title impies, I'm a cheap ass! I ordered QuickRik back in October, and picked it up Friday May 6th.

Stock specs are: 2.0T, AWD, 4K Tow, and the only two options I splurged on were a 120V inverter outlet and a block heater. Block heater is for if I get a fire call and it's 2am and -10° out....

Ok, now on to the good stuff! I have been researching a bunch on ford factory turbos, and have another thread about the 2019 Ford Ranger Turbo that I purchased for this build.

It's not crazy large by any stretch, but should be good for 310-330whp on 93 octane, and a little more if the fuel system can support E30-E50.

Along with the turbo, I have a Rev9 Focus RS intercooler on the way. It's 5" thick!!!!! You heard that right ladies, 5 Inches!

Also on the way, are 3 of what will be my 5ish tunes for QuickRik. 87 performance/tow, 91 performance, and 93 performance. At least one of these will be tested before putting the new turbo on, probably the 93 performance...

And last and probably least, yesterday made a quick 3" intake for it.

Sorry for the long read, I will be updating this thread as parts come in and mods start happening!

Also, I have begun taking pictures of main components, as well as measuring components as well, so I will throw all that info in here as well!

Onto some pics!

Reserved for pics

Here are some measurements for anyone interested. Front axles are just over 1", rears are just under 1", and oddly enough, the driveshaft necks down to .865"!!!

Screenshot is my draggy run today. Terrible run, but not surprising with it being 94° and a DA of 3400'+

Once again, more to follow!

Sounds fun cant wait to see how fast that blue QuickRik will go! My last Maverick had about 400hp and I wouldnt mind this one giving me that rush one day.

By the way, was it hard to resist getting Hot Pepper Red being in the fire/rescue life? I'm assuming.

No e85? I figured almost all newer vehicles could run it or has that changed?

Wasn't the pepper red reserved for a higher end trim? I do like that color, however I love my blue cars!

Ford doesn't do flex fuel on ecoboost models. In my 18 F150, it ran out of fueling at E50.

5 star tuning doesn't know if they will even offer ethanol blended fuel tunes unless you upgrade the fuel pump. That's hard to swallow since hugh pressure pumps are so expensive!

You may be right on the red. Blue was the only choice for me really.

Well 24 hours later and some goodies have arrived!

The intercooler arrived, and it's HEAVY! 29lbs heavy... Dimensions are roughly 5" thick, 8.5" tall, and 25" wide. However, one thing that has me perplexed, is I did a few more draggy runs tonight, and at 82° ambient temps, the intake temps my sct x4 unit monitors went from 93° at the start of the run, to 107° max. So far from terrible, with a completely stock setup. This seems contrary to what others have found, but there are a few reasons that could be. One, my sct x4 isn't keeping up with the data. Two, the sct x4 is reading temps pre-turbo. I think this is unlikely, as underhood temps shouldn't be seeing that type of rise on the street with all the airflow going through it.

Also, my FORScan cable came in, so I can add cruise when my switches arrive, and I can possibly add extra modes from the fx4....

So, onto some more pics!

Another day, another small update. The switches came in, and I downloaded FORScan, so when I get free time I'll get the cruise control put on.

Also, had my Mav for one week, and hit a deer tonight! Luckily I had slowed down to around 15mph or so, so besides the deer hair in the bumper, I don't think there is any damage. I'll look again in the sunlight tomorrow....

And lastly, the temps came down tonight, so another dragy pass was in order! Density Altitude was around 1800, and temp was 68°, so about as good as I will see here in the Midwest.

Just one screenshot tonight, but a decent one!

Another small update! I had to order another cable for FORScan, as the one I purchased was not recommended, nor did it work, for FORScan.... So I bought the unit they recommend, so hopefully now I can get Cruise set up, and get the extra driving modes when I get some time to do so.

Also, my tunes came in! Spent 4 hours updating my SCT X4 unit last night, so tonight I may try out the different tunes and do some more dragy runs.

I am still waiting for the couplers to come in for the intercooler, before I can get that mounted up.

Hopefully tonight I will update with some new times on the dragy!

Well, I can't say I'm the most ecstatic about the 93 performance tune, haha. Unless they mislabeled the tunes, the 93 octane tune put down a [email protected]. That's less than a 2mph gain in the quarter compared to my stock run. I'm not too upset though, as I feel 5 star probably hasn't had much feedback with datalogs to really get things dialed in. So that will probably be my next step. Or I can say screw it, and start throwing on the new turbo. Either way I'm ok with, lol.

I'll try the other two tunes and make sure those didn't get mislabeled or something, then I'll move on to better things!

Good stuff. Definitely following along.

I’ve been on the verge of ordering the sct either through 5 Star or brew city, but I reached out to Cobb and was notified they are looking into the Maverick with no guarantees on a time frame.

Interested if the tune will make more of a difference as the ecu “learns”

Isn't Cobb going through some craziness right now?!? I've never liked the way they did their tunes and stuff, and I really don't know why, lol.

The Mav did a [email protected] right after the flash, then I drove it around in varying conditions for 50+ miles, so I'd hope the learning had been done. Either way, it's a decent canned tune. Sadly no Trans Tune came with it, and torque management is still heavily interfering with the launch!

We'll see how the other two tunes do, and go from there!

Also, I haven't heard anything bad about brew city either.

Quick update. There seems to be better programming in my 91 octane tune. Sitting at a stop light I was able to build 4.3lbs of boost, where before the 93 octane tune would only build just under 2lbs. Hopefully this is a good sign and I will update later with another dragy run for verification!

Nice! I thought about going to them since its not crazy far away. 5 star had a great F150 tune though so I went back to them
