Project Farm tested out some dash cams.

I have the VIOFO A229 Pro 3 channel installed via the hard wired kit. Great camera. It is a bit sensitive, as it will take snap shots if I close the door too hard, or it will do the "save event" video if i hit a pot hole just right. After two previous dash cams (cheaper) failed me when I needed them the most, I do not mind having to spend a bit extra for the VIOFO.

How hard was it to hard wire?

I did not think it was too hard. I watched some video's on installing dash cams on the maverick and they helped out.
