Production date pushed back at least two weeks.

My XLT Hybrid was scheduled to be built on Monday, January 17th. Yesterday that changed to the week of January 31st, with no specific day that week. Not sure the reason, but such are the times. All industries are dealing with manpower shortages currently on top of material shortages. It is what it is.

I'm guessing it's more of a material shortage than manpower. I work in the motorhome production industry and we're having so many issues getting the parts we need to build units. Production and material availability hasn't recovered from the pandemic yet.

Not exactly truck production related, but I work in maintenance (for the USPS not that it really matters) and getting supplies and repair parts has been an ongoing challenge ever since the great TP shortage of early 2020.

Its not always the things you would think either. Earlier this week I had to replace an electric motor and its starting capacitor. Found motors easily enough, but spent half the day trying to chase down a $20 starting cap.

Basically this is my long winded way of agreeing that its likely a material shortage of some type.

I'm sure its effecting pretty much every industry.

That does not mean I'm not anxious to get my butt into my Maverick, its just why I figure that hasn't happened yet.

Hopefully sometime soon I'll get scheduled for build, April or May if I'm lucky.

A single car has about 30,000 parts, counting every part down to the smallest screws, nuts and bolts.

One would assume almost every continent would be involved in providing parts for the final product. I am in transportation/logistics (15+ years freight broker) and sometimes have a very difficult time moving a single truckload even a short distance. With that being said, I have a June unscheduled hybrid order and will be forced to consider all other makes and manufacturers in a very short time. I spent approximately 4 weeks making an informed buying decision when I chose the hybrid Maverick. Last 2 weeks I’ve been considering the Kia Seltos and the Nissan Frontier. I currently own both brands and have very few complaints. After all, My first car long ago was a 1987 Ford Escort GT and it blew a head gasket…which I am about to do stressing over this Maverick crap.

So did you get an actual email stating the date was moved? I’m scheduled for the week of January 17th so hoping it’s not the same for me but haven’t received anything yet.

Mine is a Lariat Lux Hybrid build though.

We don't get e-mails from Ford like you folks in the U.S.A. do, unfortunately. Found out via my dealer.
