I ordered a Lariat Lux AWD on Dec 21, 2021. Converted to an XLT Hybrid during the Sept 2022 conversion period. I’m due to take delivery, soon.
-SHOULD I be eligible for the Private Offer?
-WHY does my salesman say he has no info on this?
-WHO can answer this question?
-WILL Ford Customer Service be able to help/influence?

Help Please!

Thanks,
BK

Yes. All Roll Overs get the a Private Offer and the amount is tied to the original order drivetrain. Yours would be $1750

when did the salesman say that? If it was after 1/3/23 than it is likely true because the private offers got screwed up. They were set to expire on 1/3 but that was supposed to extended to the end of April. I haven’t seen much proof of this or at least it’s not simple or automatic.

no. Ford Customer service hasn’t been much help for the people that purchased a roll over in the last few days that are missing their private offers.

Thank you for your response. Any advice on getting my dealer on-board?

it is currently a shit show based on the stories of people buying right now. There are no signs of their private offers in smart Vincent. I think it’s related to the expiration date.

Key point: Rollover offers were only applied if a ROVP/COVP was completed with the original order.

COVP is the customer verification procedure that requires a drivers license to ensure it is a bona fide customer order, not some dealer faking custom orders.

Ford implemented a process that linked linked the dealer order number and COVP, then applied the private offer in Vincent (the system that manages discounts, rebates and offers). If I was properly applied, it will not expire.

There is one other possible snag: If the dealer reused your 22 order code for someone else’s 23 order, Ford flagged it and the dealer needed to fix that.

First, you could call Ford customer service with your order number. They should be able to give you an update on what offers have been applied in Vincent. Note if there was no COVP, there is no recourse.

Then go to the dealer, sit face-to-face, and don’t leave the building until someone shows you evidence the proper steps have been taken. Note that in many dealerships the salesperson is just a glad-hander and someone else actually enters and manages orders. If they didn’t do their job properly, all you can do is try to negotiate some compensation on the current order.

I know I spoke with my sales manager before the new year. He nor Ford saw anything in smart Vincent system. If not in there that means, from what I have been told, that the dealer did not put the truck order in the COVP system which Ford required in order for a customer to get the Private Offer. Thus Ford can simply say ‘sorry nothing shows in the system’ you need to contact your dealer. Then the dealer says, sorry nothing shows in the system. YET either will say…darn the dealer missed a step and did not enter it into COVP thus no private offer.

If what I understand, meaning what I typed above is correct, then Ford and our dealers are screwing us. Well to be fair, a dealer cold say they did not know such was required but Ford sent information out to dealers advising them of the requirement. I offer you call your dealer and ask if they put your order in COVP system or not. Will be interesting to see what my dealer tells me on that question emailed to them.

It all just seems to be a game of Catch 22 with Ford and the Dealers hoping we don’t catch on we are being screwed out of the Private Offer is my feeling. Just cannot blame the 800# as it is not their job to know about COVP and what was required of the Dealers.

Once I talk to my dealer if they say my order was not entered into COVP then I plan to call the Ford 800# every day and likewise email dealer sales manger each day saying that I did so and demand the get Ford to get me the Private Offer.

This is the top of the sheet my dealer sent me when he looked up my Private offer. It is my understanding that it is in "Smart Vincent". And also the bottom part. Note this is from 12-1-22, and the expiration still shows 1-3-23. It is my understanding that the new certificates now say 4-3-23.

1. Maybe. You changed models, so you might not qualify. But even if you did...

2. Dealership/salesman could care less about it. There's a hybrid on the lot and he could get another $5k+ for it if you don't want it.

3. No one. Ford will blame the dealership, the dealership will blame Ford. No one is held accountable.

4. I've reached out to them a half dozen times and filed a formal complaint. They assured me I would be contacted within 24hrs. That was 3 weeks ago. Still no contact.

Maybe we need to create a poll and see exactly how many people have been screwed out of their private offer and then try and bring it to the media's attention.

Add one more to the screwed list. Dealer wants me to buy without my offer says they will then work to get my private offer. Told them that’s not how it works you will never get it. They are know it alls but know nothing. Not going to risk it. Been waiting since 11/5/2021, truck is sitting on their lt as we speak. Can we go to small claims court on this ?

My truck is on the lot, as well, awaiting final prep. I went in yesterday, and they let me take it for a spin. Very nice. Problem is, just like others in this thread, I HAD a private offer with certificate number in SMART VINCENT in December. My salesman told me yesterday that it was no longer in there, and he was working to get it back. He said he was on the phone with someone at Ford for over an hour and ended up with a case number. I explained to him the process that Tim Bartz had laid out and he said he would try that and pass it on to the GM. None of us should of had to go through this. Ford has really caused a great deal of ill will with their customers. The talk of small claims action is certainly a valid consideration. Document EVERYTHING! I wonder if @Ford Motor Company is monitoring these Private Offer threads and doing ANYTHING about it?

Yes, that is a screen shot from smart vicent. That is how a dealer will search for your private offer, and what the dealer will see when you do have the private offer for the Maverick transition.

What, exactly, is the process for generating the priviate offer If it is not showing up in the system? Anyone know?

Ours apparently is not showing up because our last name was entered slightly differently between the MY22 order and the MY23 order. Both orders were processed with COVP.

I understand that the dealer’s Ford Inventory Specialist is the one who is supposed to be able to “fix” this and generate the certificate number.

But what — exactly — needs to be done to connect the two orders and get the offer?

I know @fordvideoguy has said “all they will need is that COVP tracking number.”

I just called our sales manager to tell him this … and he asked if we had that number, after reading me the order numbers, which of course are not the same thing.

And this was after he called us to tell us we should have received an email (or letter in mail) from Ford with the private offer information. Aieeeeeeeee….. We never got an email (or letter) because the private order certificate was NOT automaticslly generated … because our last name did not match exactly between the two orders.

(Round and round we go…)

So now the sales manager is trying to track down the COVP tracking number with the original sales rep, who is out on disability leave.

Aieeeeeee.

Anyway — my question remains — what, exactly does the Ford Inventory Specialist (or someone else at Ford) have to actually do in the system, in order to make this happen — assuming he has the COVP tracking number(s)?

I am in the same boat - My XLT Ecoboost shipped on 01/27/23 and I have been trying to get my private offer since 09/16/23. My original order was 12/08/21 and was COVP'd . First it was they need a VIN and the hold up is with the Ford Sales and Inventory specialist. My salesmen has shown me the numerous emails to the Ford Rep but it seems she is awol. Numerous calls to Ford Customer services and they say the same thing -Work with your dealer but the probem is with Ford.

Looks like I am gonna lose out $1750 unless the AWOL Ford Rep suddenly awakes and does their job
