I have a confirmed "rollover" order for a 2023 hybrid XLT lux on September 16. I was given a Priority 10 on that order. A few days later, I contacted my salesman to take the adjustable bed rails off to try to speed up the order, knowing they may be a constraint. That request was taken care of. When I saw the number of MTC members getting scheduled, last week, for their 2023's, I decided to check on my order. It was Friday evening, and the dealership was closed, so I went on Ford CHAT. The CS person told me my order was in "Order Processing" and that I was a Priority 15. I said that something had to be wrong, because my order says Priority 10 on it. They said I needed to contact my dealer. I fired off an email to my salesman Friday evening. I called my salesman, today (Monday), and and asked if he got my email. He said he checked with the sales manager and Ford had changed the Priority Code from 10 to 15 when I took off my constraints, and that the sales manager couldn't change it back, and he couldn't call Ford to change it. That doesn't seem right to me, after the word from @fordvideoguy about the dealer being able to set the Priority Codes from 10-19. My salesman confirmed that there are other Maverick orders with higher numbers (10-13) than me. I feel as thought my attempt to move my order along just screwed me. Maybe @Ford Motor Company can chime in, as well. I've been waiting over a year for a Maverick, and this turn is SO frustrating.

This is one of the biggest problems with dealerships. There are so many things that the dealer can't do at their level, and then most dealerships keep it a secret from the customer about what things that they can do, so that they can use the blanket statement of, "Sorry, it's out of our control".

For most customers, it works like a charm because unless you find places like this, you wouldn't know otherwise and you would just trust what your dealer says. On top of that, most of the salespeople either don't know much about the priority numbers or at least didn't until this whole supply chain mess overtook the car market. I always seem to know more about what's going on with my order when I reach out to my salesman.

The dealer is WRONG. They are the ones that changed the priority code from 10 to 15. Making that change does not make the priority change. And they can change it back to 10 and submit it. I would get them to change it today before previewing for this week starts.

Speaking of previewing, do they schedule every week? Seems the poster who used to post production projections lost his access

Not every week but they should this week. I'll know tomorrow.

I've never had Ford CS confirm a priority number. Always say I have to ask my dealer. Dealer can reset it to a 10 though.

Thanks, Tim. I knew that was the case, and I called BULL on them, but the salesman didn't want to budge. Everything had been smooth, until now. I was at a Priority 2 on my 2022 order from late March until time ran out on the model year.

So, a car with a lower price, fewer options, gets a lower priority from the dealer.

Update: I received an email from my salesman, with an attachment showing a DORA with today's date and a late afternoon timestamp that had Priority 10 listed. I had sent him an email with a screenshot from this thread with Tim's response. Hopefully things are changed at the corporate level. I'll be following up to verify.

I have priority 19. What does that mean compared to a 10 or 15?

Essentially with everything being equal and barring any constraints on your order. Someone with a priority 10 would theoretically be built before someone with a 19.
