I ordered my 2023 Maverick on 9/16/22 and was given a "preview" order with truck details and MSRP. I inquired about the price at time of delivery and was told those prices would not change. Fast forward one year and the truck arrived with about a $600 price increase.($500 base+$100 delivery). My salesman quit, but I have the preview order paperwork. As a Ford retiree I feel a deal is a deal, and after waiting a year, the least Ford should do is honor their commitment. Will Ford stand behind the original "locked" pricing? What are my next steps? The hybrid is great. Thanks.

From my understanding you either shouldn't be charged or will be refunded the Feb. 2023 price increase.

My dealer changed the price to the original at the time of order. All I had to do was ask and they happily changed it for me.

It has nothing to do with Ford. It is the dealer. It isn't Ford that has to honor their commitment, it is the dealer.

Vehicles are always priced at the pricing in effect on the invoice date.

If the vehicle is sold to the person who ordered it, Ford will automatically reimburse the dealer for the difference in invoice costs. It is up the dealer to pass that on to you. Some do, some don't.

As a plan customer, the dealer can either charge you the original plan-price up front. Or send you the reimbursement after Ford sends to them.

Whether the original price agreement is honored is up to your dealer - not Ford. Honest dealerships will honor the original agreement, but many will not.

You are correct. Once the vehicle is delivered, Ford is informed by the dealer, and Ford sends a check to the dealer to be delivered to the customer. Ford covers certain price changes, but not delivery. Thanks.
