Prepaid Maintenance Plan Legit?

Coming up on first oil change and have seen bits about Flood Ford and Granger Ford selling prepaid maintenance plans way below "MSRP". Are these legitimate plans that are valid at my home dealership? Thanks.

I did the math and the prepaid maintenance plan was not worth it. I can get it cheaper at my local Ford dealer with a coupon.

Okay. Calm the ford down. 1) How long do you plan on keeping the Mav? 2) If over the mfg warranty of the 3 years, 3) How much longer beyond that do You want to keep it? 4) 10 years? (there is a 3 year warranty, so... 3-10 = 7. So your 10 yr warranty will get you 7 more and they charge you $1,500. 5) BUT if you wait 3 yrs THEN decide you want 7 more years after you put 30-40K on the vehicle, they will wany $2,500! Buy the ESP for how long you plan on owning it AT THE time of purchase, call it insurance if it makes you feel better. I never needed or wanted it before I retired but now that I keep vehicles longer, I want it. I got Tire/wheels insurance when I purchased a new 2005 Portsche and within 5 years recouped my $500 investment when i had to replace 2 tires and one rim $1,500). Does it work for everyone? Hell no, but when it works like it should it is the best bet on the land.
FYI - Granger is in Iowa and if I'd buy that here, (given i live in Iowa), i have to pay taxes on that purchase but since Flood Ford is out east, and at the same base cost, I save $123.00 in local taxes. I love shopping local until state lines makes it stupid.

NO on any maintenance plans, YES on ESP warranty plans from Granger/Flood, etc. if you plan on keeping the truck over 3 years.

The question was about the MAINTENANCE plan not the extended warranty plan!!!! The maintenance plan is for recommended oil changes, oil and air filters, transmission oil at recommended intervals for the time you purchase it for. It locks in today's prices and is not worth it if you never have your car serviced!

Sorry, I also blew up. I am 80 and bought a plan, which I thought was real stupid of me since I no longer even look at green bananas. I liked the free service pickup and delivery plus and can just look at recommended service intervals. When, not if, the day comes the wife and I can no longer drive and one of our young retired neighbors can, they can have use of car 24/7 in exchange for hauling us around!

I see some "NO" replies on maintenance plans, but not backed up by any data. Here's mine, the OP will be the judge. $450 a year prepaid maintenance. Actual factual data rather than blank statements or reactionary opinions.

My maintenance on my 2017 C-Max, owned for over 5 years now, has been only 5 oil change services that cost me about $275 total....$55 a year. I did buy a couple of cabin air filters for $20 total, and have installed one. I also have a Ford ESP warranty plan (8 years) on it that I paid Anderson & Koch Ford $920 for. While I haven't had any claim on the ESP plan, it is still good for about 2-1/2 years and has brought me piece of mind as my first 2013 C-Max required a steering system replacement at $1900 just after the standard warranty expired in 2017.

I bought an RV (2020 Transit) that has cost me a total of $100 in 2 annual services. The first one was $75 and the last one was less, because I used Ford Points to cover $50 worth. As it is still under warranty, I had a warranty claim for a new headlight that listed for $1700 +labor. I'll be buying an ESP warranty on that before October for about $2200 as a cutaway chassis.

My Maverick is too new for any service cost. I'll be spending about $950 for a 10 yr warranty, but never a maintenance plan.

$55 is my dealership's shop towel fee, haha. Still, I agree it aint worth it on paper. I got the $2750 private offer and it burned a hole in my pocket. I could cancel, but my driveway isn't good for jacking. I'm expecting tire rotations. In my hood that's a 100 job.

My dealer lists tire rotation (on my C-Max) as a $25 cost that they do as a courtesy. Hybrids require so little attention in the way of maintenance. At 74, I'm done doing oil changes and brakes. Brakes is another thing with reduced need for attention as you let the regenerative system to the "heavy lifting".
