Power Steering Fuse/High Frequency Pitch

If I pulled the fuse for the power steering will the truck implode on itself?

In all seriousness, I believe the source of my headache in high frequency (think doctors hearing test or a dentistry tool) whine is coming from the power steering. It really only makes the pitch when the steering is under high load, like parking lots or slow speed maneuvers.

I’m thinking that if I pulled the power steering fuse, it may reveal if that’s the cause of the frequency or not. I just wanna make sure I’m not gonna damage the truck.

I imagine it will set a trouble code about the power steering system.

As far as long term damage?? I'm not an expert, and I don't stay at Holiday Inns, but I wouldn't think it would cause long term damage if, say, you pulled the fuse and drove around a parking lot at low speed for a short duration to test your theory, then reinstalled the fuse.

To me that would come under trouble shooting
