That makes me feel better then, if I do any sound deadening Iāll be less concerned with excess heat from the engine bay. Maybe thatās why itās so loud too for me too, it being in the cab and all.
Where is the EPS motor and controller located? I need to do some soundproofing.
Unfortunately I have very sensitive hearing and the power steering in all Mavericks (Ecoboost, hybrid, FWD/AWD) makes a high frequency whine (16,000-18,000HZ) that gives me a headache. Iāve test driven 5 different...
If I pulled the fuse for the power steering will the truck implode on itself?
In all seriousness, I believe the source of my headache in high frequency (think doctors hearing test or a dentistry tool) whine is coming from the power steering. It really only makes the pitch when the steering is...
I have an update, my local dealer was able to identify the sound. Theyāre not sure if itās normal or unique to my truck. Iām going to drive another hybrid maverick tomorrow morning alongside mine with a technician and compare.
Well, itās totally coming from the power steering in my mind after my drive home. When the wheel is straight, no matter which mode, regen or not, accelerating or slowing down no noise. As soon as I turn at slow speeds it does it. The more stress on the system the worse it gets. @jerrisn @CD_SM...
Is there any way to dampen this? Iāve seen a few posts of people adding sound ending to the doors/firewall/back wall/etc. Or just wait until my hearing starts to go with age. š Iām a young high school band Director, so this shouldnāt take long.
Itās really that high pitched? I saw that thereās a company that makes a disabler for it, Iād really hate to do this as it makes it a deadly missile lol. But I gotta do what I gotta do.
I received my 2024 XL hybrid yesterday, and I found when braking and often times with the steering wheel turned, the truck produces a very, very high frequency sound. Almost an inaudible shrill pitch. Unfortunately, Iām very sensitive to high-pitched sounds, especially in the 20,000 Hz range...
