So I read through the three active audio system upgrade threads and i never saw the oem speaker sizes clearly listed.

OEM Front door =?
OEM Rear C pilar =?
Front Dash tweeters =?

Can someone just fill in the sizes for those of us who just want to simply swap out the speakers and not tumble down the rabbit hole of amping, subwoofers, and miles of redundant speaker wire.

Thanks!

Front Doors: 6.5" round
Rear C-Pillar: 4" round
Front Dash Tweeters: 1.5" round housing with 1" round driver.

For the tweeters, you can use any size from 3/4 - 1" or so, but you will need to come up with a way to install them into the stock location since the stock tweeters have an integrated snap ring.

Thank you so much Platinum 2!!!!

I did see the picture posted of the OEM Tweeter with the snap ring installed does anyone have a picture of the OEM snap ring removed so we can see what's there? I'm willing to drill three holes to mount an aftermarket Tweeter and just use plastic screws to install it but it would be cool to see what it looks like before I dig in there.

Oh and when I swapped out my Transit Connect speakers waaay back when Crutchfield sold a harness adapter so that the OEM harness speaker wire didn't need to be cut. Do the OEM speakers attach to the harness with a electrical connector vs a bare wire?

I don't think that collar is removable as it is a molded 1-piece unit.

Here's a helpful video, though I don't care for the tweeter modification itself...

Well, I was referring to how he mounted the tweeters and the parts he used. But hey, whatever works! 😂

I would look at the JBL Club series speakers. They have all the sizes, are 3 ohm for a little extra punch and should work well without an extra external amp. Focals are good to, especially if you are going to amp them....👍

I'm hoping to swap my speakers out, nothing crazy, I won't be doing it myself, but I don't want to lose storage or have to get an amp, just a little upgrade and I'd be happy. I love the sound of JBL speakers.
