Picked this up yesterday....

Hey Everybody!

It's a new '24 XLT Hybrid with the luxury package and Co-pilot360.

I had to wait 4 months while they sorted the rear camera recall, but I wanted a '24 because the radio and heater buttons are separate from the touch screen. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal but I really don't like touch screens.

I like it a lot EXCEPT....it has THE WORST factory stereo of anything I've owned in the past 30 years. Oof. And by a wide margin. It's disappointing because my wife's Fungus (Focus) had a great stereo, one of the best OEMs I'd ever heard. And the same for her old Taurus, too. Sounded great! But this? Not so much. As a musician for 50-some-odd-years, I need new speakers, an amp and a sub. The head unit can stay...for now....

So I'm here to pick your brains and learn as much as I can about a vehicle I hope to have for a long time. This looks like a great place to pick up all kinds of useful info.

And I'll probably irritate the hell out of you while I'm at it! I'm retired (machinist by trade, musician for lack of brain cells) and spend most of my time annoying the wife and making noise with other old band guys. It's been great so far, and now I have a new toy to play with!

I've been eyeballin' the hard roll-up covers already. I'm looking for one that sits on top of the bed. I'm sure I'd bend the frame on the flush-mounted kind bashing something into it.

There is a section for people who have upgraded their speakers and added a amplified sub. Its a job! Whatever you do, get the low frequency wire harness FIRST before you buy anything else.
