Wouldn't that require heavier wiring leading to the inverter?
YEs, that's a big part of the issue. If you use the 12v utility wiring in the bed you are limited to 12v x 20A = 240 watts which isn't much, but still more than enough to charge electronics or power a light. A 1500 watt inverter would need to be wired directly to the battery. Not sure how good of an idea that would be and I wouldn't use it unless the motor was running.

I still haven't come up with a reason why I need more than 400 watts. If I need power tools I'll bring a generator.

That's where you can put the 533 page owners manual after you print it out 😂

I got the 400w inverter because it's more convenient than having to connect one. Most of the stuff I can think of to use with it is under 400 watts anyway - mostly electronics, fans and lights. Unless you want to run power tools or heaters/hair dryers 400w should cut it. Those things will need 1500-2000 watts to run and inverters that size are pretty big.

I honestly don't know - I keep going back and forth about whether I need a bigger one and can't decide.

I honestly would be fine with the 400w inverter if I could select that option alone. But I don't really care for most of the LUX package items, so it just wasn't worth if for the few things I want. Because of that I'm hoping there will be an aftermarket integrated inverter (integrated into the side panel like the one that is included in the lux) that can be installed. I'm just hoping that since I'd be installing after market anyways, it'd be nice if it were higher wattage.
