Congrats!

That wheel/tire package wasn't available with the FX4 "back in my day" (July 2021). Much better than the FX4 black glossy wheels and terrible Pirellis.
Too right, I don't hate the black FX4 wheels when they're clean but I'm not a detailing guy so they're never clean and I'm so over it. I've got them to a point where they're "brake dust brown" and I keep telling myself not to hit them with the hose at the carwash, just let em be brown and it's fine.
I'll order something less black and boring in the spring because now they're the winter tire wheels.

Looks nice.👍

Did the Falkons come on your Maverick I really like the profile of those. Keep us updated how they ride I wouldn't mind putting those on when my Continentals eventually wear out. I'm sure the Falkons aren't cheap.
Thanks. The Falken Wildpeaks come with this wheel option, in my very limited experience they ride just fine. Discount Tire price for the 235/65/17’s is about $190 apiece.

You're not Italian are you? They never take the plastic off their furniture...
No, I’m not but I remember my grandfather’s ‘63 Impala with plastic seat covers! I left the plastic on just long enough to get photos. I was surprised at how dirty they were.

Nice, that's better than what I thought they'd be.

Nice Maverick! I have to say, judging by the picture with your Ford Fusion trade-in, you took impeccable care of that thing. It looks immaculate for being a twelve-year old car. You're gonna love its replacement. The beauty of it is it has the comfort of a sedan, like your Fusion, while having the versatility of a pickup. That's the best attribute about it.

I do regret not getting those optional wheels on my FX4. I figured I didn't want to spend the extra $700 or so dollars just on wheels and I thought the black ones would go well with all of the black trim. Which it does but just like someone else mentioned, the glossy black shows all the scratches even with the utmost care.

Thanks for the compliments on the Fusion. Instead of trading it in I was able to sell it to a friend whose son is getting his learners permit. It has relatively low miles (93K). It was a great car and it has all the safety features I would want if my son was learning to drive.

I do understand your decision not to spend the money for the wheels. By the time you spring for the Lariat, FX4 and 4K tow package, you now have truck that is just under 40K, which is about double the original base MSRP. But I would rather have all the safety and convenience in a loaded Maverick than a base Ranger or F150, which would be well past 50K by the time I got the options I wanted. Plus the Maverick fits in the garage.

One more photo of the Fusion - it really was a fun car and I will miss it.

They probably could have put pink wheels on my grey FX4. No one will steal it. I sit inside so I could care less what color the wheels are.

Thanks - wheels are a personal preference thing. I actually think the black wheels look good, I just like these better.
I like the black wheels much better than the black and chrome of lariat. The stock Michelins on my 22 lariat are about worn out and I’m thinking of trying to find a set of 17” wheels someone has taken off an XLT then add a decent AT tire for my AWD lariat.

Hi folks, thought I would introduce my new daily driver, ordered 6/12, built 8/10 and delivered 8/30. Also some no prep photos if they might be of interest. This replaces my 2012 Fusion SEL V6 (which has been a great car).

My aim was to buy Ford's cheapest truck but have all the safety and convenience features the Fusion came with (backup camera, b/up sensors, cross traffic alert, blind spot monitors and Sony sound system). Also the Maverick has features the Fusion never had, including towing and hauling capability.

I am enjoying my new truck!

Joel,

I also have a Lariat in Azure Gray that I got on August 11th. I love the color more and more every day. Mine is a Hybrid though which is what I wanted. You are going to love your Maverick. This is my second one I traded in an XL that I had for 8 months as I wanted all the bells and whistles and they have both been a great vehicle. Any questions about anything or accessories don't hesitate to reach out.

Azure Grey = best color
Agreed. I was trying to get an Atlas Blue Lariat, now I am glad the Azure Gray worked out and with the Black Appearance package it is just such a sharp looking color.

Thanks - I’m sure I will have questions, a lot of great info here, you are correct, I am already loving this truck! My immediate plans include oil change between 500 - 750 miles, deciding which tonneau cover, digging into Forscan, and seat covers. I have installed mud guards, tailgate assist, and flag emblem on the fender badges. Later on I will be looking at a tune per CWEO (chief wife executive officer). Lots of fun stuff and great folks on this site!
