Anyone have photos of a non-UV protected spray-in liner that's more than a couple years old?

Local shop insists I'll be back in a few years to pay a higher price for renewing the liner unless I get the UV protected version from the start. I'm pretty sure I can live with the fading but I'm being mildly tortured by uncertainty now and feeling a need to do a sanity check. I would love to get a look at what to expect if anyone has photos. Hoping MTC can help.

Do you plan to get a bed cover? That would block the UV when in use.

Don’t have any photos you’re asking for but was wondering if you’re planning on putting a tonneau cover on at some point? That would mitigate the UV issue. Just my opinion but I’d guess the extra cost protection they’re offering is just profit for them and not much actual help to you.

I look at it like an extended warranty that’s offered on pretty much anything you buy nowadays- you almost certainly don’t need it. Which brand of spray-in liner is it?

No pics, but UV just protects the color. I have seen SIBL from the late 1990s in better shape than the truck it's on.

....at some point yes. I'll carry bulk compost, brush, mulch, or logs infrequently though (maybe every 45-60 days) and so the cover will be on and off periodically and if I'm honest, once it comes off it might hang out for a while before cleaning the bed and putting it back on.

Looking at line-x. Shop tells me that carrying material like that I'm going to be back in a few years for a renewal which of course costs more than uv protection today. I feel like I can live with the fading/wear but looking for a bit more confidence. ...the UV protection (if it holds up) does seem to work really well.

go on-line and ask what that "special sauce" they plan to spray on is made of. It may be something as simple as urethane which comes in sprays cans at Lowes and Menards.
