Phone controls on steering wheel not working?

Searched the forum but could not find any similar issues but my phone controls (Answer/Hang-up) on the steering wheel have stopped working. They still work for searching radio stations and skipping music tracks but when I'm trying to answer or hang-up a call they do nothing... I've rebooted the system about three times and have the most current software version so maybe it's a set up issue with my phone?

Are you using the built in Ford software just using Bluetooth, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay via a USB cable when making the calls? If it's using AA or ACP, maybe try rebooting your phone?

Using AA with bluetooth and a combination of usb-c and a bluetooth dongle. Have had any issues with it until about a month ago. Really weird

I came here to post about the same issue! It just started. Have rebooted my phone and the truck system. No luck. Everything works except answer and hang up. I can push the voice button and voice dial, but can't use the hang up button to end the call. It's bugging me!

I have a Galaxy S23 using Android Auto and have tried it connected by cable, Bluetooth and using the wireless dongle.

I don't generally take calls while I drive so i can't say I've noticed this, but Android Auto could be the culprit. It's infamous for adding bugs with upgrades. You might try an android forum to see if others are complaining.

Things to try:

• Remove your phone from the Maverick's list of connected devices.
• Remove your Maverick from the phone's list of connected devices.
• Make sure the AA app in your phone is the latest version.
• Go into AA app info and clear cache.
• Un/reinstall AA in your phone.
• Pair your phone with the truck again.

I figured out why mine wasn't working. I use the wireless wifi dongle for cord free use of Android Auto. I don't remember the brand, but it's not the Motorola model. It shows up on Bluetooth as Smartbox. My phone was connecting to for audio and calls. Its supposed to be only for audio. Cals go thru the Ford Bluetooth. Once I disabled calls on the Smartbox, the steering wheel buttons work like they are supposed to.

Ok, I'm gonna give that a try. Do you disable it (calls on the dongle) on your phone or in AA?
