Turns out it’s not exactly a perfect fit. It moves back and forth because it’s not a snug fit.Good! Is it secure? From moving balancing
Got to work on that.

Someone else mentioned strong magnets attached to the bottom. That would make it stay, yet be easily removed. If you didn't have the tonneau cover, I would look go with something more secure for both theft resistance and in case of an accident.Turns out it’s not exactly a perfect fit. I was considering a bed mat to keep it from sliding back.Someone else mentioned strong magnets attached to the bottom. That would make it stay, yet be easily removed. I would be interested to know if that box will fit between the tailgate and the load bar shown in this picture. I use a 2 x 6 in that position at the moment, and my measurement has it as a tight fit, but again that seam…
I don’t know. I can check when I get home next week.I would be interested to know if that box will fit between the tailgate and the load bar shown in this picture. I use a 2 x 6 in that position at the moment, and my measurement has it as a tight fit, but again that seam…
I just picked up a red lid one myself. Fits perfectly. Only about half an inch of wiggle left to right. Two options from Home Depot and Husky.
The 57 gallon tote fits between the inner fenders, with an inch or so to spare:

Flimsy, but I'm cheap.
This one is "water resistant" with a gasket:

Actually for all my cordless tools etc.
First post/reply on the forum. Here are the bins/boxes/chests I'm looking at for secure and dry storage in my 2023 Maverick bed, at the campsite, and/or in the garage (so it wouldn't live in the truck bed full-time). Since I plan to take it in and out of the truck and will likely get a hard tonneau (finally giving in to my lady's requests as it adds security and keeps out the PNW drizzle), I'll probably just strap or bungee it in place when it's in the truck bed and not packed in with other stuff:
Tractor Supply - perfect size, cheap (good and bad)
Buyers Products - perfect size, cheap (good and bad)
Overland Vehicle Systems - a bit smaller, much heavier, good quality, decent price, too tall for tonneau cover
Eylar - even smaller, quality, as light as the cheap options, fairly expensive
I'm gonna start with a cheap storage option, and since the reviews for both the Tractor Supply and Buyers Products show that manufacturing and assembly are spotty, I'd rather see it in person before buying. There are Tractor Supply stores near me with theirs in stock and I can't find anywhere with the Buyers Products version in stock, so I'll start by seeing if I can find a local Tractor Supply version that looks good.
What do you think?
Thanks; I understand a bit better now why you were looking for such a high-quality bin. Probably better to invest more in the cover and less in the bin. Nothing is perfect, but some of the tonneaux are said to be quite secure, which would still leave enough for an adequately rugged bin. Thanks for the advice, @Tall Hobbit! Sounds like I should get the tonneau cover first to see if any of these are even compatible. If they aren't, I'll probably go for one of the options in this thread (one of the Huskys; don't wanna have to remove the value-adding wheels on the Vevor).
TBH, I wouldn't have gone down the "rugged plastic bed bin" rabbit hole if I'd given into the idea of a hard tonneau cover before starting my search for a disaster-proof bin (big earthquakes and wildfires are my local risks) to store emergency supplies that could double as a rugged plastic weather-proof bed bin. Once I got to the "how to deter thieves" part of my bed bin search, the overwhelming feedback was "get a hard tonneau cover to keep thieves from seeing whether you're loaded and to deter/slow them down in instances where you're targeted". My lady was right; I should get a tonneau cover.
Once I have the tonneau cover, I'll probably restart the disaster-proof bin search without prioritizing making it double as secure, weather-proof storage for camping/excursions. And look separately for a camping bin that fits snug between the wheel wells that won't fall apart when loading and unloading while full of gear.
Sorry, thats pretty neat. nice fit. I seem to recall a previous thread from long ago where someone was wanting one shown in some ford marketing material that was a great fit but noone could find out who made it.![]()
