PCV value replacement?

on the 22 ecoboost is the pcv replaceable? I know it's location, I can get the locking hose off, but I can't figure out how to pull the pcv value out, i think it might be a part of the oil separator. The pcv valve that rock auto and all over the Internet show isn't the right part.

It is part of the oil separator and you would need to remove that from the block. Not an easy job I’m sure and I don’t envy you at all. I’m curious though, why are you replacing the PCV. Did you get a code?

Removing the oil separator isn't that bad of a job, but it requires removing the intake manifold. It's definitely more that just popping in a new PCV valve.

that's what I was wondering, so they are fixed together?

Idk why rock auto lists a stand alone replacement pcv valve. I got one and it's not the right part.

funny thing is they list the same pcv valve for the hybrid, but also looks like hybrid pcv valve is affixed to the oil separator?

I'm not 100% certain that the valve can't be replaced separately. The separator definitely comes with a new valve, but I do see the PCV as a separate part on RockAuto. Any time I've replaced them on this family of engine I've pulled the manifold for better access and replaced the oil separator with the PCV while I'm in there. In all of those cases the vehicle had a lot of miles and it made sense to do that to have a new seal, and in some cases they needed an intake valve service.

Yeah, the separate PCV valve shown available doesn't even have the right connection. I'm pretty sure @gjallen3 was correct to begin with and they must be replaced together.

I think so too, and i think the hybrid is the same way
