You don't need a stove you cook your meals on the blacktop. Couldn't live their, heard their was 29 days over 110. Us old people can't handle that kind of heat.
New record of 31 days in a row over 110. Also a new record High/Low of 97. That means that it only cools down to 97 over night. (normally in the low 90). We had 2 days of "cool streak" ☃ 108 & 109. Now it's going back to 114-116 for a week🔥. Thank God (and Ford) the Maverick has an awesome AC system... Cheers!

One big MPG drop is the electric air conditioner used to cool the cabin & the HV battery. This causes the ICE (gasoline engine) to run more to charge the battery that the A/C runs off of. In winter, MPG also takes a hit if you run the heat because the heat comes from the ICE.
I hadn't thought about driving the hybrid in cold weather (we don't have that here!). The heat for the cabin and battery is waste heat from the cooling and exhaust systems but the ICE has to run to generate this, seems a bit wasteful.

Man our 104 seems cool, had a 99 degree day so didn’t set longest streak of over 100. But, almost to same days in a row since but likely will not make it to a full month.
Hurricane season peaks on the 25th. If this pattern ever breaks the Gulf of Texas will spin a few cat 5s

Found 92 and below gets full mpg above that mpg drops 5%. Got 34 today in stop and go traffic AC on 74deg and recycle. Outside temps over 110 at start, 107 at end.

Tire pressure, took the Mav out at dawn 76 deg. Threw a low tire warning ( 54mpg on a low tire at 6:30am ). So aired it up and others with my handy air pump jump pack. Today in 101 cool degs lol. Got 48mpg and felt every bump in the road.

Hey the advantage of that heat is you can cook food inside your maverick. lol. No oven needed.

Yes I’m in North Texas and the heat has been killing us. I did the same with tire pressure and you’re right: EVERY BUMP makes your teeth clatter!

Even counting the mpg loss due to running the ICE more frequently for cabin/battery heating & cooling, you're still getting much better mileage than almost any other truck currently available.

I feel cheated when around 35 mpg, but its rated less than that at hwy speeds. So, yes the better than listed MPG has me spoiled. Better spoiled than rotten…

And your coffee doesn't go cold when you leave it in the car.

I was thinking of putting a bed cover on the Mav but realized that would make it a solar oven back there:unsure:.

Not recommended doing sous vide 24 hr roast inside your truck… if you do crack a window and maybe not cut so many corners like use a real bag sealer, cover the water bath etc. it could turn out ok otherwise. It didn’t for me. Next time ( yes hard learner ). I will use the bed of the truck and not the cab. Black Bed covers should be outlawed in Texas!!
Next try pressure canning….. not kidding its a skill for camping I want to get right. Will wait till parked to start.

The temperature here in NW Arizona has dropped from 118° to 108° in the last few days and the milage on the hybrid improved be over 6%. 30 to 32 MPG.
Looking forward to October when temps should be down to more reasonable figures and milage should be back up to the 40 to 50 MPG range!
Following the storm, temperatures have dropped from 110° to 95° (although humidity has gone to 70%), milage has gone from 30 to 40 MPG.

As a person living in Atlanta, how do you live with 118 lol

Their humidity is lower than ours. Gotta compare the heat index values to make it fair.
