My friend has a XLT AWD with the Conti tires and is looking at other options. He wants a good AT tire without going more than one size over nor will he be doing any off roading and would like a white letter tire. I think he just wants a little more meat without sacrificing mileage or comfort. Been to tire rack and all he got was a headache looking at too many tires. For all you tire gurus any suggestions?

(Not white lettered)…but take a look
at Nokian Outpost APT. Great capability and minimal impact to MPG. Weighs about 30lbs (depending on size), so minimal impact on things like driveshafts. I love mine.

The white letters may be the limiting factor, not too many choices these days.

If he can live without the whites, the OEM optional Falken Wildpeaks are awfully good.

Loved mine as well.
Severe snow rated, aramid sidewalls, low rolling resistance and fairly quiet.
