Navigation with a phone doesn't require cell service. It requires the GPS unit in your phone and a stored map (offline maps) just as a stand-alone GPS unit does.
Or my Garmin.
Which provides more detail than my phone unless I'm able to use 5G.
I will provide photos of what my phone shows with and without 5G service.

Or a Garmin.
Garmin is a "stand-alone" GPS, as I mentioned above. Why do you need a Garmin when your phone does the same thing? I haven't owned a Garmin for a vehicle in 15 years.

If it's available and it works, why not use it?
You can use whatever you want, but likely you're already carrying a cell phone which works just a well, integrates with your Maverick and is very likely more up-to-date. The point of the discussion was to inform people that a phone GPS works as well as a stand-alone GPS without a cell signal, contrary to what others were implying. I never suggested that anyone not use a standalone GPS.

Well, I never thought it would generate this much buzz with that post, but I’m glad to hear from all of you. It sounds like I should be disappointed in our miles per gallon at 33 but I’m not. After all, my wife drives this truck occasionally.😉

If/when you take another extended trip, you might try running the heated seats (I'm assuming your trim level has them). It's counterintuitive in summer for sure, but I find that it has helped me in multiple vehicles, even when I was already sore before I started driving.
hmmm. bought in June in eastern Va so no need for heat, but I'll give that a try.
