One year in... WTF

I have the FE, picked it up end of April ’22. I have 32K mi (yes, love driving the truck). Had to replace the 12v… not a problem I guess. But… 2 wks later June 6th of this year had check engine/wrench light… took it in. Had to replace Hybrid battery at dealers who had it a wk and a half…a day after picking it up, I’m driving and front end starts shaking at 50mph…. Back to dealer and bad axel another wk and a half.
Do not get me wrong, I love driving this thing but….

I’ve basically been with out the Maverick for a month

Same issues with the Escapes that have the Hybrid 2.5L. The axle has been reported by some there too.

This is why I got the Ecoboost. A year and a half of the Escape and it's oddities and I knew it was not going to be reliable. Sorry... I loved the hybrid too, especially at the pump - but it has TONS of issues.

Some experience them more than others, but they all have it. I'm actually surprised they replaced your battery. I'm guessing you had the old AGM and they gave you the newer one? I tried and it was like pulling teeth - they "charged" it twice before I gave up and decided I wanted out.

Have you had the powertrain malfunction yet? There should be a TSB for that one too.

The dealer and ford should be getting you a loaner or rental vehicle. Thats alot of issue in short amt of time, especially keeping it that long. Calmly/Politely raise some cain, squeaky wheel gets the grease type situation

That’s rough. My hybrid xl, bought Dec. 2021, now has over 48k is still running strong. No issue so far. Haven’t done one recall yet either.

I hope Ford gets this stuff straightened out before they build my Hybrid in August!

My friend is on her 2nd loaner, she has an Escape that the engine failed 5 months ago, she is not a happy camper, but they did give her a brand new Escape to drive!

So I frequently scan the threads of the Maverick forum. I recognize that people err on the side of negativity and tend to post about issues versus their positive reactions. That being said, it sure seems like there are a lot of threads about Hybrid Mavericks having a wide range of issues. As much as I’d love that mileage, I’m feeling better about having an ecoboost.

No luckily, haven't had a problem with Powertrain malfunction...YET.. but hey, there's still time

I guess it's my fault in away. Back in the late '80's early '90's I had a Bronco II. The paint on top was peeling, and Ford had a recall on the F150 for paint problems. Since the Bronco II and F150 were off the same line at the time I thought Ford would do the right thing... Silly me, no help and actually the phone rep I talked to was a little bit of an A..H... So I told him Ford got my last penny. Until the Mav, never even thought of owning a Ford.... Then saw the Mav and thought "why the hell, been enough time, maybe they got there .... together. I will say this, the dealership has bee good so far.
